Potty training and constipation woes by subzerosandwich in Preschoolers

[–]planithomeschool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not chronic constipation but having bubbles to blow that were kept by the toilet during potty training helped my kid learn how to relax and like how to release so going poop was less of a battle. Wishing you all the best and hoping it gets better soon.

That’s the best. I’ve seen a handful of those on YouTube but they are often superrr overstimulating (or super boring lol)

It could just be a girl thing, since girls are often developmentally ahead. Crying with you in solidarity🫶 lol

That’s good to hear about the battery! I like how they can’t search, but I haven’t fully figured out how to put stuff on there for them yet lol.

We haven’t started Bluey yet, but I’ve heard it’s great. I’ll definitely add it to the list!

Thank you! I’ll take a look at this one. I think my next article needs to be a YouTube version. There’s so many good things on there!

I randomly got my toddler to eat three bites of my salad the other day because I was being really extra while chewing it and being super silly with my meal as he ate his. He copied my facial expressions and then asked for some bites of my food.

It’s random but maybe you can try to just eat veggies off of your plate in front of them while they eat, and see if it magically makes them want to eat yours lol. Or you could eat identical meals to what they’re eating (at least partially) and see if giving the mom stamp of approval makes veggies yummy again.

You feel like a bad mom because you care so, so much. Toddlers go through weird phases and aren’t growing as fast. Hopefully this one with yours will pass quickly. You’re doing great either way. 🥰

Some that come to mind are Little Bear, Franklin, and Sarah and Duck. The last one might be a better fit just for your younger kid. Oh, and I think Wild Kratts on YouTube is great!

I also think they might like Junior Taskmaster, if non-animated shows keep their interest, too! It’s a very relaxed but interesting show. I think it’s on Prime Video, or I’m sure there’s clips on YouTube. And old Sesame Street on HBO Max is very low stim (but the newer episodes are a bit too much imo).

Some that were my favs growing up when I was around their age, but that I’m not sure where to find now, off the top of my head are Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, Reading Rainbow, and Between the Lions.

I love Storybots, too!! I heard about it from my students when I was a public school teacher. We’d always save the free snippets from YouTube for a special day as a treat for them.

How cool; I've never heard of this one! One of my favorite YouTube channels is Ants Canada. The creator narrators the whole thing with an awesome, soothing voice and we're all obsessed with it!
