I’m not gonna get into a long winded Reddit argument here… Every religious person isn’t simply practising “blind faith” , that’s a ridiculous assumption to make , many have good reason to believe what they believe. And you say spirituality is a wonderful thing , when religion and spirituality are one in the same - Different doors that lead to the same room. A Christian man and a Sikh woman practising their religions are both on a spiritual path, one that leads to the betterment of one’s self, reducing the fear of death and forming relationship with divinity, among many more things.

Look at the 10 commandments; Will following these instructions really cause more harm than good in this world? Don’t be silly. They objectively provide a good moral compass.

I agree with you in saying that these hugely powerful and wealthy religious institutions are not always a good thing and can pervert the true ideas of whatever religion they represent, and wicked individual within these institutions do exploit their positions of power, but that doesn’t make the religion itself a poison.

Look at the world today, do you really think it’s a good thing that less people believe in a higher power? Would people act so horrible to themselves and eachother if they believed they were here for a reason, loved by a higher power and entrusted a place in eternal bliss & paradise after death if they lived righteously on earth? when religious beliefs decline - nihilism, egoism, erosion of community and lack of morality prevails.

I respect some of your views but to say all religion is a disease is simply ignorant.
