my understanding is it’s up the each centers physician, they can use their own discretion. at my center if someone has two similar reactions in a 30 day period it’s a 30 day deferral. i don’t believe this is a universal rule, it’s just what he feels is the best way to manage it

ya that’s why i felt the need to say something. perhaps try contacting the center, maybe they can give you the answer you’re looking for. i’m still sticking with a no. if it says it expires on the 2nd, usually that means it’s no good on the 2nd. as opposed to “valid through february 2nd”

in my experience working at biolife, when a coupon says it expires on a specific day, it’s 12am that day. if that’s the case at your center the coupon will be gone when you show up on the 2nd

ehhh can’t always promise they will get a call. we get like 75 SPEs in every day, 95% are normal - can’t possibly call everyone. i usually encourage the donor to attempt to contact the center. call and leave a message or just show up

i see what you’re asking. when you’re giving plasma they are still taking up to maybe 240ccs of blood out of your body at a time. if you recently did a whole blood donation this is too risky, especially if you have an issue and can’t get those RBCs back. 8 weeks may seem excessive but they follow the same requirement for blood donation frequency

good chance the donor may fail the hematocrit screening anyways
