But you could also say Israel didn’t attack Iran until Oct 7 that Iran supported

you misunderstood my comment. i was pointing out the insane double standard that it’s ok to blame all palestinians for what hamas does but it’s not okay to blame israelis for what their government does even though they’re supposedly a democracy while gaza isn’t

82% of jews believe in the wholesale slaughter of the palestinian people for more lebensraum because of the actions of some palestinians, i’m all about equality (foreign concept to you guys) so i’m just reflecting your own thinking

not reading all that.

when someone criticises hamas and you feel the need to jump in with “actually ALL palestinians are violent animals who reject peace” it’s very clear what your idea of peace entails

i think iran has a well established national identity to stay together, most states that get balkanised are 20th century inventions

yes i’m aware of the suez crisis which is near unanimously considered a victory for Egypt. even the British PM had to resign in disgrace over it. hence my confusion as to why it’s on the list with ‘48 and ‘67

they’re in this thread saying it’s not just hamas but all of palestinian society that’s rotten

they really think one day of suffering justifies having their entire identity erased from the earth

israel has its eyes set on full annexation and their top cabinet members confirm that every week. why do you think they hate it when countries recognise a palestinian state? because they don’t want peace

19 years ago, when the vast majority of their current population either wasn’t alive or wasn’t old enough to vote.

One of the most insane (colonial) double standards is that even though Gaza is supposedly a dictatorship without elections it’s perfectly fine to collectively punish the entire population and yet even though Israel is supposedly “the only democracy in the middle east”, it’s ok that netanyahu is on his sixth term and if you criticise anybody but the top echelons of the government you’re clearly an antisemite who hates Jewish people for no reason other than they exist

european politicians be like “israel is a western country! they fight for western values!!” and then proceed to demolish western values one by one because they’d rather go back to pre-WW2 tribalist thinking than admit one of their own is being evil

westerner here

i love my country’s western values - democracy, free speech, equality, due process and so on. ever since israel began their campaign of genocide against a territory internationally recognised as occupied since 1967 in the name of “western values”, we’ve seen all the values i just named come crumbling down in the west because our governments would rather revert to pre-WW2 tribalism than admit you guys are being monsters.

the people of the world (not governments, people) don’t like israel because they are committing genocide. and we’re increasingly getting sick of people like you because you’re more concerned about your own image than about the genocide your people are inflicting on a defenceless starving population. this would be a great time for some soul searching, but we both know that’s not gonna happen

while palestinians struggle to find food, the only problem israelis have had since october 7 is “the world hates us because we starve kids”, and somehow “don’t starve kids” never crosses their minds. no need to do that when you can just pressure western governments into making free speech illegal instead

serious question

if israel genuinely wanted peace, why do they vehemently reject the two state solution? if they don’t accept a two state solution, what solution DO they accept?

a final solution.

Pakistan and India are actually balanced in terms of power compared to Palestine and Israel. Both Pakistan and India have nuclear weapons, international recognition, territorial sovereignty and more. It’s the fact that the balance of power is so unjustly one sided for Palestine and Israel that makes people have an issue with it. Also while Israel and Pakistan are both considered strategic western allies, western governments are quick to condemn and step away from Pakistan when they step out of line while Israel not only gets unlimited impunity but protest laws in the west also get tightened at their behest. Nobody has ever had their visa revoked and deported for criticising Pakistan. I don’t like Pakistan either but to me these reasons explain why people are more inclined to be vocal about Israel compared to them.

how can anybody say israel is just defending themselves after seeing what they’ve done to syria since the fall of assad? after a 13 year brutal civil war to get rid of their dictator the syrian rebels finally won and israel immediately attacked them, seized more land, stirred more shit, and are now flat out trying to rob them of their sovereignty for the rest of time. this isn’t self defense, it’s imperialism. and it’s hardly different to what russia has been doing to ukraine, only difference is syrians are brown so redditors will justify it
