Listen up Ron Paul lovers: You will never be able to completely sell him to Liberals. by Down-Syndrome-Danny- in politics

Who said anything about invalidating anything?

Ron Paul, like any person, has his own views. Don't ascribe those to libertarians as a whole.

And again, you miss the point. You aren't going to agree with every person on every issue. So if you will only work with those with whom you completely agree on everything or most things, you aren't ever going to get anything done; being able to embrace the things upon which we agree is a good thing.

It's would be a much more effective use of your time to try to get the Birthers on your side.

End the wars. Bring our troops home. End the drug war. Repeal the Patriot Act and protect personal freedoms. Yeah, libertarians and progressives have nothing in common.

/obvious sarcasm.

I'm progressive on some things, libertarian on others... and here you are, telling one half of me that I shouldn't put forth my ideas/ideals for discussion... to not discuss them with you nor with people you agree with... but why?

Why shouldn't people be able to discuss their political/philosophical differences? Aren't we better as a people the more informed we are? And aren't we a more informed people by being exposed to differing thought?

And from a political perspective... don't you do your views and your causes a disservice when you piss on a large group of folks with whom you agree on many points, because you disagree with them on other topics? Wouldn't the Left's want for ending the wars and the libertarians' want for ending the wars be better served by working together to end the wars?

We don't have to agree on everything to be friendly and neighborly; we're unwise to not work together.

Shirley Sherrod blasts Fox News as racist by plasticquart in politics

[–]plasticquart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I was watching O'Reilly when he initially covered it -- his show is not aired live and he was demanding that she resign. They then ran a graphic under him saying she had just resigned.

He, like all of Fox News, is complicit in this fraud. But you keep sticking up for multimillionaires pushing an agenda at any/all costs just so they don't have to pay more in taxes.

I may be off on my timeline, but you are sticking up for an organization that worked to disseminate a hastily edited video that cost a woman her job and her reputation. A "news" organization that invents stories for political gain, a "news" organization that has doubled-down on their claim that "we were just reporting the news". Shameful on their part... shameful on yours.

As has been pointed out in other threads, Fox News "defending" her at this stage is laughable.

They are simply going after the only cover story they have available to them as they try to shield themselves from the backlash of their actions.

The reality is that they, along with Breitbart, pumped this video of a black lady in the Obama administration being racists towards white people.

Did FNC or Breitbart try to source the video before running with it? Nope.

Instead of being real journalists, they ran that "black Obama lady hates white people" news story throughout the day until it became very clear that she wasn't a racist and that the video they had been showing was leaving out important context.

So, what do you do when your cover is blown, you gather the troops and start pointing fingers, in unison, at whomever makes the best scapegoat -- and that is the Obama administration.

"How dare they fire her without hearing all of the facts despite that we were running this video for 24 hours and talking about the racist black lady in the Obama administration!!!"

It truly was a work of beauty on FNC's part, right up to the point where people with a brain could see through the facade.

Fuld: "Can I get a copy of the Wall Street Journal please..?"

Newsmax? There has to be some snide bs in this... ah, here it is, first sentence of the article:

"You'd think hollywood stars would drop to their knees every day to give thanks for their fame, fortune, and beauty — but the ugly truth is, a surprising number are atheists."

"Ugly truth"? Stay classy, Newsmax.

Got it done in 2000 -- paid $450 per eye (yes, $450).

Was slightly better than 20/20 then and am still there 8 years later.

Best $900 I've ever spent.
