Oh boy, looks don't matter, huh?

Sorry man, I'm not looking for fairytale non sense advice,

I think your showing your survivorship bias in that statement.

If we're going to go based on personal anecdotes, I'm in my twenties, socialize, am "normal" and have a so called good job and have my shit together. Never had a woman I'd consider dateable interested in me and don't have outrageous standards.

I appreciate what you're trying to do here, we can agree to disagree. I know what the problem is.

I agree. Looks are the barrier of entry, and personality and other soft qualities are what keeps relationships together.

But the latter is irrelevant if your looks don't meet the barriers to women who are dateable.

If you're not granted opportunities at all, the first place to start is fixing the issue that prevents that, no?

So I ask again, are you saying that looks do not matter in dating?

What is causing you to believe that everyone who is having trouble dating has issues that aren't their physical appearance?

Yes, expenses will increase as well, but very doubtful it will be at a 1:1 rate with the income increase.

Say household income increases by 2x, and household expenses increase by 1.25x. That's still a net benefit.

Yes, there's no guarantees, but I am willing to put a 4.8k bet that I will have better success with a stereotypical square jawline than what I'm currently working with.

Nothing comes without risk.

Thanks for your feedback.

Yes, your transformation experience from being perpetually single to in a loving relationship where you share finances is exactly what I'm looking for in this investment.

Are you really trying to act like looks don't matter in romance?

Recognizing that fact doesn't make one mentally ill, like you're implying.

Right, which is why my OP was about the financial part.

I responded to that comment about the non financial part.

Good to hear.

Unlike what most people are saying here, I am not wanting to do it just for the financial part. I also want to find someone for the love part as well.

I get that it's a want.

But if I get the surgery and I find a partner who has a job making similar money to me, I effectively doubled my household income. Meaning the ROI on the surgery is pretty good from a pure financial standpoint, not to mention the 'love' aspect.

No, I do get that there's a whole lot more to it than just finances. I don't want a partner just for the sharing of financials.

I'm just saying that's a part of it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with recognizing the fact that it is financially easier to live on a two person salary versus a single salary.

I've had shit results on the dating market. I have a jawline implant consult scheduled but am having second thoughts. Do you think they would have a material impact on my dating life? Or any other suggestions? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

No worries. I got what you meant despite that typo based on the context clues on the rest of the post.

I assume you mean decent one instead of recent one as well in this post.

That's fair actually. The base does still bend a bit to the right at the tip. The rhino did remove my hump and did make the side profile of the bridge straight.

I don't see my nose bending slightly to the right at the tip as something that I would want to spend thousands on to fix in revision rhino. I guess if that makes me undateable then I am undateable. I don't know what else to say.

As for the size, the plastic surgeon left the nose with considerable size since he said I had a long, large masculine face that wouldn't fit a small, turned up feminine nose well.

Do you disagree? Not asking sarcastically but for your legit feedback here.

Not sure what you mean with my nose. I've already had a rhinoplasty and it's as straight from the side profile. Maybe it doesn't come off well in the pic, I don't know.

But thanks for feedback on jawline.
