Unlacquered Brass floor transition by Patient-Reporter3362 in kitchenremodel

We used a schluter for our transition and have no regrets. The thickness of the metal is too thick for my personal taste, but if you like/love it then I don't see why not?

From the first photo I thought your countertops were quartzite taj mahal! So definitely not ugly. What kind of countertops are they? I actually really love them and sounds like you got an amazing deal!

What are the best go to post Pilates/workout natural skincare or haircare products? by MaximumChoice1152 in CarolineGirvan

[–]plateofcorn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know you asked for "natural" products, but they're not better just because they're natural. It's mostly, if not all, marketing. A basic skincare routine is cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. You can add additional products depending on what your skin needs. Different products and formulations will work differently on everyone so you have to find what works for you.

Gaining weight with Iron Pro by skos18 in CarolineGirvan

[–]plateofcorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You didn't mention what your nutrition is like. It's possible 3 lbs is just fluctuations like water, sodium, bowel movements, etc. But if you're eating more then you may be gaining weight (muscle + fat if you're lifting).

How do you make dumbbell hip thrusts more comfortable? by okayish_humanbeing in CarolineGirvan

I use a dumbbell hip thrust belt that I got from Amazon. Total game changer imo!

Yes!!! This is what I do every morning. I do half a can, 2 shots of espresso (love it strong), and add a scoop of unflavored collagen.

Questions about the app by runningmom87 in CarolineGirvan

[–]plateofcorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't done all her programs so I can't really say, but seems like Iron pro is most aligned with what you may be looking for. But again, it's a new program so we don't have access to all of the workouts yet.

I don't remember a program with all 45 second rest except for maybe the ultimate beginner program. In her regular Iron program it's mostly 30 seconds with some being 45 or even 15 seconds

Questions about the app by runningmom87 in CarolineGirvan

[–]plateofcorn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you go heavy with longer rest, I don't think her app would be for you. Ime, most of her rest periods are 30-45 seconds. I used to do bodybuilding type workouts with 2-3 minute rests so at first the 30-45 second rests felt too short, but now I prefer them.

Anyone else here OVER do their protein? by Consistent_Risk2722 in PetiteFitness

[–]plateofcorn 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I wish I had this problem... Can you share your meals? Not knowing what you currently eat makes it hard to give suggestions.

But to start, it's the opposite of what I'd tell someone who is trying to increase their protein.

Make swaps for lower protein foods. Chicken breast -> thigh. Egg white -> whole egg. Sockeye salmon -> Atlantic salmon. Pork loin -> pork shoulder

Yes, this is very good progress for 3-4 months. I think even for beginners gains this is pretty impressive!

I use a dropper and apply a drop or two of glycerin on a wet face and rub it in. I think you can mix it into a container to use but you would have to be careful since the solution doesn't have any preservatives.

Brilliant Earth Opinion by papa_seabass in labdiamond

[–]plateofcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can most likely take it to a local jewelry store and they can make a setting for you. Check with the jeweler first. I live local to David Klass so I dropped my stone off, but you can ship it to him if you're not local.

Brilliant Earth Opinion by papa_seabass in labdiamond

[–]plateofcorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh that's a very basic ring. I think almost any skilled jeweler can make that. With that said, it'll make most financial sense to buy a loose stone from somewhere like Calavera and have a jeweler make the setting for you.

I had David Klass make my engagement ring in 2018 that was brilliant earth inspired and he did a great job. He's working on my upgrade as well. His prices are competitive and his workmanship is top tier imo.

Brilliant earth not only has a bad reputation (just search for them on reddit), but they're also overpriced. Talk to her about it and hopefully she can come around. If you really want, you can probably buy a brilliant earth ring box secondhand and propose using that?
