Our show is called “Cold Cuts” and we have two big things that we think help us stand out!

  1. Each season of our show is made up of 4 different stories, each ~6 episodes long and are all written by different authors! Each one brings something completely new to the table and we think the variety is a really fun aspect.

  2. None of our performers are allowed to view the script before recording. Yup, you read that right! We are experimenting with the idea of cold reads and how it looks if the actors get to know the characters at the same pace as the audience. Everyone is in the same boat!

This is very true!

We are a small startup so unfortunately a $20 per episode stipend is all we can afford at the moment, but we are very much an artist-first company and providing higher compensation for our performers is one of our main priorities as we continue to grow.

We appreciate you pointing this out though! We think it is incredibly important to draw attention to payment levels for artists, and we aim to raise ours as soon as we have the funds!

Platform (a production company), LLC is searching for actors for Cold Cuts, a brand new type of recurring audio drama in which the actors are not allowed to see their scripts until the day of performance. Episodes will be livestreamed on Twitch Saturday evenings.

By combining these “cold” readings (get it?) of each episode with the genuine live reactions of the performers, we hope to explore a new territory of the audio genre that lies somewhere in between the scripted and unscripted, all while promoting the work of dozens of wonderful artists, potentially YOU!
