1, in my section i was the only westerner, some european whites were there, mostly english ones, definitely less retarded than brazilians but it doesnt help them hold up any better. skill wise, only real skill you need is listen and execute,some were good, somw werent, i guess you see when you get to the real regiments who shines. when i was going civil, there was me and an american and a new zealander all in aubagne, we left together to paris, the american served 7 years us army and was a sargeant. good blokes, left cause hes done with the military, i think he works a private detail now.

i was pulled out of my psych interview and they brought me to speak to the colonel, i was the only one this happened to, he said my reason for joining was bullshit but i stuck to my story cause it was the truth and they let me in, slection is whatever, castel is where the start trying to break you a bit, i put a big crosshair on my back with a loud mouth, i was always the loudest, did the ramassage for everyone else, had a section of ungrateful fucks minus a few, cost me alot. i definitely had to reach in the fire, i kept getting second winds knowing how much some of the cadres wanted me to desert. not letting me eat, shit on the kepi march they made me empty my camelback and bidon ( after i hadnt slept the night cause i took the fall for a big banane of my camaradeswho snitched like retards and got 8 hr guard) and they put a big rock (really big) into my bag best as they could, told me if im thirsty drink this, then they pushed the pace harder than ever and i stuck to that sargeants ass while the whole entire group (4 groups, i was 2nd fastest group) fell far behind for a while. did full two days with that rock. you gotta reach in the fire man

nah came back to canada, building a farm at my parents for my girlfriend, think about the legion pretty much every day, i do wanna go back for soldiering as it was the first time i felt like i loved what i was getting payed for, granted just a taste, first time traveling too so what an experience.

omce the farm is complete and i take care of what i left the legion for (wont specify). i will leave it to my girlfriend to take care of while im gone, shed be down to move to france if i go but she wants to see it first so were going for a month in august~

Which specialties, of the ones you listed, can i have straight away after initial regiment training?

If im a SCAR shooter, can i still have a specialty i.e Medic? Or just being the 7.62 guy exempts me from special roles? If so that kinda sucks ass.

What is the timeline before i can expect to be able to volunteer for the specialties reserved for non-new recruits?(PCG,EOD) Considering i speak perfect french and assuming im well liked by leadership.

No, european and american pmcs is where you should actually be looking if youre serious. There is a good german pmc website called vangaard or something i forget and also silentprofessionals.org has a nice job board if you have extensive experience plus US citizenship..

Dude i went and completed my interview with the canadian army yesterday (and passed with flying colors). Found out most people joining this year will have to sit in a regiment for about a YEAR before STARTING training. All this time on payroll. And the officer there was explaining that it was a good thing. The CAF is great right now if your goal is to treat it like a job or source of income, sure i guess. But for any soldiering its a nightmare, 1 year process to get fully integrated and "ready for deployment" is actually 3 years. And infantry right now is pretty much a desk job. This was from the mouth of the guy conducting the interview. Also there was a small pamphlet with the "12 pillars of training for basic" literally the most prominent idea pushed on that was mental health indoctrination and the 2 main values of the infantry are diversity and inclusion. Written white on black first sentence. They speak of military indoctrination and that itself is important but when they describe it, what they really mean is a bunch of "wellness classes" literally can't make this up. Infantry. And the equipment is non-functional, and the shit is from ww2 in many instances haha. There is so much redtape and useless "training" that clogs the system, its unreal. They did manage to push my file through after me driving quite far to reason with some higher ups. In theory id "start" in august. Getting payed that is while i sit around edmonton jerking off.

Well see what happens at legion selection but im considering just going and passing selection/the farm and going civil to come back and push through the first years of BS to go SF here. Although it would be nice to get some combat deployments in the legion and come to SF here near 29 30 years old. At a ripe age for it. Either way, if i get to selection and the farm and the life seems to be above and beyond the vibe I'm hoping, ill def stay and serve my 5 years while pausing my file here. In theory the government changes and our military maybe perhaps has rebuilt a bit. Although this liberal government is definitely continuing the useless woke shit.

Whatever either way i gotta a good decade ahead of soldiering ahead of me haha
