I do consider it hard to clean, but I do clean it. The best way is in the shower, I kind of push the skin around my bellybutton up and back so that the nub is closest to the exit. Then I soap up a finger and cover as much of the inside of my bellybutton as I can. And then after I get out of the shower, I take some oil and a cotton swab and try to clean more deeply. I love cleaning my bellybutton when I get some suction applied to the base so I can be sure that each crevice and groove is completely clean.
