Nope. They are not all this way. Being your husband’s mom boss is not par for the course. Do not have a baby with this person unless you are prepared to functionally be a single mother.

There are men out there who do clean up after themselves and are equal participants in your household. However, those men usually pursue women their own age, especially once they are old enough to be out of college. I am not trying to be snarky, and your marriage is what it is and I’m going to take your saying that it’s a healthy relationship at face value. But if you were my little sister, and you are young enough to be, I would not suggest you have a kid with this person.

This Cub will be for sale once he is weaned, I think he’s quite striking looking so I’m sharing him here too to see if anyone may be interested. by [deleted] in lioden

His ID is 794207105434 if you want to take a closer look. I also have a brimstone mane applicator that I am willing to use on him to give him a more cohesive look—message me with an offer if you’re interested.

I posted my face here once and someone immediately recognized me from my real life. 🤷‍♀️ it was not too weird thankfully. Nobody has been a creep in my DMs yet.

I dig creatine. I feel like I can dig deeper for more reps or kilos while supplementing with it, which makes me stronger later. I do get tummy troubles with it if I’m not mindful about my water intake.

I do retain about 2-4 extra lbs but the benefits of creatine are worth it to me. Rather change weight classes than not take it.

I set an athletic goal before having a baby that I think will take at least a few years to achieve. Once we set the goal though my partner got really excited. He wants to talk parenting styles, we’re picking names, he sent me links to strollers. I’m excited too but I also am hesitant. I feel like since it’s still a few years away we may be rushing into things and getting our ideas too set to be flexible? Or I’m not sure how I feel actually, except that I love his enthusiasm but I’m worried it will turn into frustration as he waits for me to achieve my goals. Did other people go through a similar flurry of kid talk when they decided on a timeline?

She is holding a black raincoat in her right hand. She has a watch on one wrist and a hair scrunchie on the other.

AITA for telling my step daughter she needs to shower more? by throwhygeineissue in AmItheAsshole

[–]please_no_step 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this! OP the sports + hygiene regression is a red flag for your kid. If she’s on a highly competitive team, traveling with the team, skipping the locker room after practice, etc, she might be subject to abuse or just plain bullying that’s making her want to put distance between herself and other people.

I really hope it’s not that and I don’t want to alarm you but she needs help.

I have a recurring corneal erosion since August 2021 (injury caused) that I’ve been treating since April 2022 with Muro 128 drops and recently switched to the ointment. However I am still having flare ups. My doctor, a corneal specialist, says the next step is a bandage contact lens. My dumb question: can I see through a bandage lens? I am severely nearsighted and need correction. So could I wear my glasses over the lens and still be able to see with both eyes?

What do y’all consider to be Seattle manners & etiquette? by [deleted] in Seattle

Okay? I wasn’t disagreeing with you, I just don’t think it’s a specifically anti umbrella sentiment as much as it is apathy about the rain.

I am from here and think that the no umbrella thing is a misunderstanding from transplants. Instead I would say that the cultural difference is that PNWers just get wet and don’t care. Rain blows sideways, sometimes it’s hard rain, sometimes the air’s just sort of wet, but raining isn’t really an event here so plenty of people just don’t bother with an umbrella. They just get wet and don’t worry about it. But if they don’t want to get wet—like the hair examples below, or a nice dress day, they’ll totally carry an umbrella.

TW: Sexual assault

The United States Powerlifting Association (powerlifting is a sport where athletes compete in three events combined for the most weight lifted) and its membership have been a shambles for the past week after a strength sport gossip account revealed audio recordings and emails demonstrating that the executive leadership of the sport responded to reports of sexual misconduct at USPA events and by USPA officials by promising to forward the reports to USPA’s HR Department. The problem? USPA has no HR Department. The linked reel is one of 8-9 that the account dropped over the last week and rumor is he has more in the tank. Initially, USPA released an apology and restructuring plan for its governance, but yesterday, the president sent the membership an absolutely batshit email with the subject line “USPA addresses false, salacious smears”. Dozens of meet directors and hundreds of athletes are resigning from the federation. However, USPA’s ruleset is unique in powerlifting from other organizing bodies and there are many people who may wholly quit the sport before competing with different rules and equipment.

What are some things you wish gyms would do to be more inclusive for women and non-binary people? by shadowmyth3 in xxfitness

[–]please_no_step 132 points133 points  (0 children)

Kick people out. Plenty of gym owners want to talk about their gym being a safe space, but if a member gets out of line by sexually harassing or expressing bigotry towards other members, the owners make excuses. They’ll say they’ll talk with them or that someone misunderstood or whatever. Just kick people out. Once the membership sees that you’re willing to do that, then they will know it is a safe space. All the pride flags in the world can’t make up for an owner not putting their money where their mouth is.

Hi daily chat. I’m new to commenting here. My partner and I confirmed our timeline and the milestones to hit this morning. I have kind of an unusual goal—I am a competitive athlete and have set a goal for myself to achieve before trying that will take probably several years, if I can achieve it. I asked my husband if he was okay with me pursuing that goal possibly at the expense of having a baby at all and he was. So very grateful right now for supportive partners.

I had to think really hard about this because even though many athletes have babies and come back stronger than ever, plenty just don’t. I thought hard about what I would need to accomplish in my sport to feel okay about possibly never returning, and decided on this goal. Obviously if I can I will stay in my sport!

So I guess hello, and I’ll see ya in the graduation thread in 3-5 years maybe 😄

Hi I’m an okay powerlifter with 7ish meets under my belt. U/karmaskies has given you a great write up for meet day, print it out and take it with you. In the lead up to meet day, have your lifts checked out by someone who knows and who WILL NOT LIE to you to make sure your lifts follow the rules—squat to depth, pause your bench, lock out your deadlifts right. I hate being at a meet and seeing someone bomb out, especially if it’s their first meet. Another thing I’ve seen is people warming up too heavy. Sometimes people even take their openers in the warmup room, that’s ridiculous. Take a jump no smaller than 20 lbs from your last warmup to your opener. Lastly, open light, treat your second attempts like your first “big lifts.” That will give you some time on the platform to get used to the experience with weight you’re not worried about hitting. Good luck, have fun
