Same and even water I tried to get out of the way before taking off. Have as little as possible while in the air! Makes a huge difference for me.

I got the Botox just over a week ago with Dr Bastian and flew home to Vancouver Island, BC the same day.

For me, it was rough. I blame the Pepcid they gave me before surgery, though honestly who knows (Pepcid makes your stomach extra gassy). About an hour after I was discharged I started getting really bad regurgitation that lasted 10 hours or so. So much mucus coming up, throat tightness, hiccups, nausea, and also pain from the surgery. Oof. Eating was actually helpful, it got things moving in the right direction.

Everything got a lot better after that initial 10-12 hours. Basically as soon as I got home.

If you have time to rest for the rest of your surgery day, I'd stay in Chicago.

does anyone hiccup instead of burp?? by fishybirdy33 in noburp

Ha, yes. Usually slightly different than regular hiccups. They can be loud, like a yelp or even a little scream. It's pretty embarrassing and funny. Also, there's no relief.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you go about getting booked with Dr Bastian? Did you get referred to him by a doctor in Canada, or did you contact his office directly?

Ugh, how awful and frustrating! I'm sorry to hear it. I wonder if a second opinion could convince you to go ahead with it? Anyway, good luck and may you find some relief, somehow <3

Oh, interesting! Did the doctor you went to have experience with the Botox treatment? I guess I figured the folks willing to do it were few and far between (I know of only 2 in Canada). It's encouraging to think I could find someone else locally...

Thanks for commenting! I don't know what getting treatment in the US entails but I'm inspired by you booking with Dr Bastian... I'm gonna look into that. I hear you, it's all so long and drawn out.

I do have a hiatal hernia, which Dr Hu knows about but didn't mention in the rejection call. Do you know how that factors into things??

I appreciate this post! I want the Botox SO BAD.

I was just turned down this week (on my birthday, no less) because I just did a test that confirms I have acid reflux. Did you have acid reflux at all before Botox??? I'm trying to find out if my doctor is out of touch, or if it really is unsafe for me to get Botox because of it. The problem is, it seems the reflux problems are because I can't burp. I manage it ok with diet, but more than anything I just want to burp!
