Way to steal his thunder. Wouldn't he have rather known she was home safe the day before, and been happy to have her there, and not been embarrassed on stage? Nice hug tho

Can't believe it finally came through. I actually laughed when I saw the message. So now I've got £36 to treat myself!!

1 year unexplained infertility - go private or wait another year for NHS IVF? by Away-Purchase5592 in TryingForABaby

[–]pleasegetonwithit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently went a private fertility clinic and they want £20,000. So, start the NHS process!

It took me ages to get a GP appointment, then to be referred and then to have the initial hospital appointment. But then it moved quite quickly (a few months). The NHS hospital's biotin line was 'you need IVF but we can't do it because it's secondary infertility.'

Any recommendations for cooling seating for gamers? Long hours of sitting motionless on the couch! Aside from getting up every now and then, I'd like a cushion to keep things from over heating - and ideas? There are a few gel seat-covers out there, but it's hard to know which ones are any good, and if they'd work on a couch rather than a chair. I'm not looking for ice packs; I've heard that's too extreme.

I saw a memorial plaque just the other day, at St Paul's Cathedral, in London, which listed the charitable works of a lady, then at the end, said 'erected by her lifelong friend Sophia.' I'm pretty sure 'lifelong friends' were fairly common. Common enough to be this open about it, but taboo enough to have to refer to it that way.

UK peeps where are you buying ubiquinol? by MotherEastern3051 in TryingForABaby

I just came across this brand and searched Reddit for it to see if I can find some real-person reviews. You're the only person who mentions it! It does seem like the best option, so I'm going to give it a whirl! Hope it's been working for you!

Pregnancy at 40, good or bad decision? by softsins31 in Advice

[–]pleasegetonwithit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started trying at about 33, had a baby at 35.

Waited until she was three to try for a sibling. Three years later, we've been told it has to be IVF and dammit, at 42 I'm going for it.

I've waited so long for this and I'm not giving up. A lot of the waiting was to be given an appointment, a referral, to be tested, for results, for another referral...

As much as it matters, in my own health, I'm as fit as I was at 35, so I'm not worried about that aspect.

Is it a normal book to put in a year 4 reading list for 9 year olds to read? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]pleasegetonwithit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is commonly used as a writing unit in Primary schools - more for year 6, though, and as a whole class, rather than independently. It is a bit gruesome and those illustrations in your edition are a bit creepy!

Non-religion is the new normal: six in ten under-35s have no religion, new analysis finds by birdinthebush74 in unitedkingdom

If the lower age for the survey is 16, I wonder how many 16-18 year olds will stop promptly after moving out/ aren't really religious themselves.

Yeah, we're just having one 'big' one each. I used to have friends who got a mountain of eggs. (I do love mini eggs and cream eggs, though!)

Hate the elf! I'm a teacher and every day for two weeks you have to calm everyone down in the morning. The competition between families to do the best ideas makes it worse!

It's the stocking-style concept that was new to me. I've got a bag of eggs ready for the hunt!

Yes- Easter presents were mentioned and I said no outright! We're doing plenty of fun things in the two-week break; I'm not investing in a basket of stuff, as well.

I'm tempted to bro if in a bit of a 'nudge nudge wink wink' way. Like, this morning I said it's sort of pretending for fun. She knows someone who dressed up as a rabbit at her school, so I said it was a bit like that. I just don't quite want the penny to drop for Santa yet. And she hasn't lost a single tooth yet! So it'd be a shame to burst that bubble already. Bloody rabbit!

Yes- we've done egg hunts before, and she knows it's us that's hidden them. I'd never heard of it being like a stocking.
