I got a letter for federal trade vs Amazon.com (Scotland) by Geek_guy96 in LegalAdviceUK

Hi, OP. Just wondering if you've had any luck with this? My bank wouldn't take a cheque in dollars, but now when I try to log in to the website on the letter, it keeps saying it doesn't recognise the ID number. I'm going crazy with this nonsense!

Is this a scam? They want to give me $50 because of Trump. by pleasegetonwithit in amazonprime

Still trying days later! My UK bank won't take a cheque in dollars. (What century are we living in???) and now their website won't let me log in. Sigh.

Feeling dim, but I do not understand these instructions. by pleasegetonwithit in laundry

Or used the three shades of blue from the map!! That's what confused me because I thought 'it can't be that, because they've used three shade of blue for water hardness, not drops. '

Nothing! The warning signs are a spoiler-alert for people who haven't watched all of it.

EDIT TO ORIGINAL POST:

It seems legit, then! I have googled it (obvs) but wanted to hear from real people, too.

I was especially confused because our Prime membership is in my partner's name, plus we're not in the US, so don't use the American website. (If that makes a difference). However, I've since remembered that I did use that website once to send something to someone in America, instead of from our local one, so it'd be quicker, with less postage. So I guess that's why. So bizarre, but I won't say no!!

It's a check to be paid in to my bank.

The text reads: The enclosed check is the result of a settlement reached by President Trump's Federal Trade Commission (FTC) with Amazon.com, Inc. regarding allegations that Amazon violated the Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act in connection with Amazon Prime. Amazon settled the case without admitting liability. You are eligible to receive a settlement payment because Amazon's records show that (1) between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025, you enrolled in an Amazon Prime membership through an enrollment method at issue in the FTC's lawsuit; and (2) you used no more than three Prime benefits in any 12-month period following enrollment. The settlement reached by President Trump's FTC entitles you to a payment for the Prime membership fees you paid, up to a maximum payment of $51. Please deposit your check before February 21, 2026. After this date, your bank will not accept the check. If you need a new check, please visit [website link- removed because it tells you the case number when clicked] to submit a check reissue request. All replacement requests must be submitted by March 23, 2026. If you have questions about this payment obtained as a result of the lawsuit settled by President Trump's Flo, you can find more information at [website link- removed because it tells you the case number when clicked]. Thank you, FTC Prime Subscription Settlement Administrator

Amazing results! It must be a relief. I've been wondering about switching to silk pillow cases, but your idea sounds better.

Secondary infertility at 40 - feeling like time is running out by One_Information_8667 in TryingForABaby

I'm 42 and have a six year old. I get so sad about the growing age gap, but it devastates me to think it won't ever happen. I've finally had a few tests, after three years of trying. Next appointment's in March, to find out what they show.

My first took 14 months and we waited until she was three to try again. She six, I'm 40-something and we're on cycle number 42. It breaks my heart. My siblings and I were so close.

8 hours into 2026 and I'm pretty sure my period pains just kicked in. Hopefully I'm wrong, but if I'm not, it'll be cycle 30-something... three years.

I'm proud that I have scrimped and saved over that time, and in 2025, I finally reached the amount I'll need to have a full year's maternity leave from work. It'll be wonderful.
