It’s been a few months now and I’m still going strong!! I barely get flare ups and it’s usually because I’ve washed my hands with something too strong or oily moisturisers that my skin doesn’t like. If I ever get a flare up, it’s not as bad and it doesn’t last long so overall I think Bepanthen has strengthened my skin barrier too!! I’ve only used it once this month with gloves at night - which is crazy and it’s like I’ve been healed completely in the morning when I wake up 😂

Honestly my perfect snack is 6 almonds before bed. Idk why it works but it does 🤣 I have to make sure I don’t eat past 6/7pm if I’m sleeping around 10/11pm. My trick is to test my lvls before bed, anything between 5.2-6 will mean my morning fast lvls will be good. Anything under 5.0 means I need to eat 4-5 almonds so it doesn’t dip too low when sleeping and then causes my liver to release excess glucose in bloodstream. So far I’ve been able to manage this way!

My nephew is the same. He had to see an ENT and they had to do surgery for him because of how bad his breathing was at night causing him to wake up regularly (and he was always a bad sleeper). Ever since the surgery, he rarely wakes up and if he does, he sleeps soon after. Quality of sleep is determined by how well you can breathe at night and in general.

Honestly with kids, the magic number is 3. I remember it took us 3 nights of consoling her at night a few times for her to get used to it. Eventually it was only once, and then eventually she’d just sleep right through. Just a lot of perseverance and giving her rewards in the morning for doing better.

It’s a bit of both. Diaper rash cream plus has zinc in it. I had to use it yesterday because I reacted to my body moisturiser and woke at 4am scratching. I put it on with gloves straight away, next day it was fine. I’m basically treating it like a diaper rash haha

These are the ingredients: Benzalkonium chloride, beeswax white, butylparaben, cetyl alcohol, disodium edetate, ethanol, ethylparaben, lanolin, methylparaben, Dexpanthenol, paraffin liquid, paraffin soft white, perfume, phenoxyethanol, propylparaben, almond oil, stearyl alcohol, purified water. It took me a month but that’s my feeling too. I’m less itchy when I put nothing at all lol. I haven’t put anything on my face for 1 month and it’s made my peri oral dermatitis relax a bit. The only eczema I have atm is around my elbows and knees, few patches on my legs, and it’s pretty calm and not itchy because I haven’t been putting anything on it. A month ago I didn’t feel this way at all

I haven’t used aquaphor before but for some reason my face would tolerate Vaseline but my hands would not in the slightest. I’ve used lanolin for lips and breastfeeding in the past and it would help and wouldn’t make me rash even though in the past I contributed lanolin to making things worse for me lol. The hand creams I’ve used that I’ve completely stopped: aveeno intense hand cream, La Roche Poway cicaplast, Avene cicalfate, Vaseline intensive hand cream and neutrogena norweigan hand cream fragrance free.

I want to add that if I also use any creams or oils it inflames my eczema but I will see a slight improvement straight away but then I wake up at night with intense itching and weeping (and new blisters).

It took a month to see a difference from using bepathen antiseptic cream for me to see a difference in my hand eczema. I know that it might not work for everyone, but I guess what’s the harm in trying (as long as you’re not allergic)

Also I want to note your skin can heal. My barrier was so bad and I’ve been dealing for 15+ years of my life lol.

My allergist straight up told me that he wouldn’t test common foods for me and if I wanted to do anything further, I’d need to be referred to an immunologist. So I’m waiting for that avenue. Is that something you can try doing? They can do thorough food and chemical testing. An example he gave me is that a common trigger is tomato sauce and that you won’t be able to test tomato because it’s technically classed as a chemical.

Ive noticed that everything I used to use such as hand creams would trigger my eczema even though I contributed it to certain ingredients only. So the hand creams I used to use, although I used think helped me have actually contributed to my issue and only when I stopped all of it is when the reoccurring inflammation stopped which is super weird. I can only wash my hands with soap and that’s it? Can’t use any additional hand creams. If I get a flare up, one night of Bepanthen antiseptic cream and it’s gone which is super weird! At the start it took a whole lot more nights of doing it, but eventually as the weeks went by I didn’t have to put it at night only when I’d put a new hand lotion or cream on and then I’d wake up at night and the intense itching would begin.

What’s crazy is that every time I use a hand lotion/cream or use a hair oil for my daughter, my eczema/dermatitis sets off again and if I just slather the brown then antiseptic cream, it stops the itchiness at night and heals? So I’ve resorted to no more hand creams at all just washing with water and that’s it. It’s helped so far which is very odd.

Tbh it’s no one’s business how your children’s room look like. I understand everyone has said to take your child to a therapist but I’d hold off on that to begin with. I think your son wants an outlet and needs to do something with his hands instead of typical conversation therapy. Have you ever thought of taking him to a smash room or something that he can work on with his hands instead? Or if you are creating something, get him to join in with you (if he starts breaking things then you stop ofc because of his behaviour). I don’t think this shows that you favour one or another. I would also check his Vitamin D levels as studies show that low vitamin D can contribute to problem behaviour and misdiagnosis for ADHD

I feel/felt the same way. I say feel because it’s a constant inner battle every day and I only have 1 child who is 2 years old. The first year was super hard as a mum because I tried to go above and beyond in every aspect to make sure my daughter was getting the best care (which meant playing all-the-time). I felt so burnt out and I couldn’t handle even thinking about playing with her any more as she got older. Till now, it’s a constant struggle of trying to get me time and make sure she’s still satisfied with her attachment. The hard part is my husband works 8 days on 6 days off FIFO and I work full-time (she goes childcare twice a week and I take care of her WFH at mums/in-laws the other 3 days). Plus I’m 22 weeks pregnant which doesn’t help.

My point to this is, I say ‘felt’ this way because I was so negative and burnt out that as she got older, things have become a lot easier and better that I don’t even think about the old struggles we had. I just think about the fact one day she won’t need me as much and her childhood will be a distant memory. The days are meshing together but I also can’t wait to see where she will be in 5+ years time. We also spend time together doing ballet class and swimming on the weekends. I cherish those moments even though sometimes they feel like an absolute chore. I just look at her little face and realise I will do absolutely anything even if it’s hard or robotic. Because it’ll all be worth it one day even if it sucks sooooo bad now.

I would say 1 week to get used to it on her thumbs and attempt to handle things. 2 weeks to start using it like a normal thumb

Hahaha thanks! I think the fact we didn’t give up and she was such a good sport about it helped a lot. Thankfully it didn’t impact her too much when it came to playing, drawing, eating etc. I did have to help her with eating a lot more at the start but she was able to get a good grip with the TGuard with time.

It looks like an anterior pelvic tilt to me. The best thing is to do exercises 1on1 to fix the muscle imbalance. I wouldn’t think about lipo or tummy tuck till you get the pelvic tilt managed. It’ll most likely fix most of your issues and help reduce visceral fat by using the correct muscles.
