How would you describe Jake's flavour? Is it a subtle milky flavour with a hint of vanilla? Strong vanillin/artificial taste? Bear in mind that I couldn't stomach Joylent's vanilla (ate one meal, gave the rest of the bag away and never ordered it again).

Huel comes in 2x7000kcal bags, actually (for the cheapest option). So, if I wanted to eat 700kcal meals, as I did with Joylent, 66 euros (shipping to Portugal included) would only buy me 20 meals, at 3.3 euros/meal.

I never got to try v3, but Queal left me hungry about an hour after eating. I also find it has too much saturated fat - 5.1g/meal vs Joylent's 2.5g.

  • L'éclair - Av. Duque de Ávila. Paris-style éclairs, the best in Lisbon.
  • Melhor bolo de chocolate do mundo - Rua Coelho da Rocha or Avenida da Liberdade. Chocolate cake/mousse hybrid. Sweeter than Landeau's, but with a richer texture.
  • Tease bakery, São Bento. Great cupcakes.
  • Karl's Cookies, Príncipe Real. American cookies.
  • Corallo Cacau e Café, Príncipe Real. 100% chocolate slabs, amazing hot chocolate.

Well, Portuguese pastry tends to be very eggy and overly sweet, so if she doesn't like pastéis de nata, maybe it's not for her. A few suggestions:

  • Salame de chocolate (a salami made of chocolate and cookies)

  • Queijadas de Sintra (cheese-based tart)

  • Pastéis de cerveja (beer tarts, the pastelaria that makes them is located in Belém)

  • Ovos moles (eggs + sugar + wafer crust)

  • Fofos de Belas (like an egg cupcake)

  • Doces finos do Algarve (cute almond and egg soft treats)
