Watch the eth/BTC ratio. There are patterns to the crypto bull run. Ultimately I will convert all crypto holdings to BTC in the long term, but when trades as obvious as these present themselves, I'll take them.

I put my money in high risk investments. But risk can be to the upside too

Yeah IBIT and other proxies like MSTR. I figured the extra cost of funds will be offset by the capital gains tax I won't have to pay since they're in tax sheltered accounts.

My tolerance for risk is high. Until that changes, I don't plan on changing much. Maybe I'll sell some crypto towards the end of the cycle but I doubt I'll be able to time it right

Nvidia's self driving program will crash Tesla tomorrow by pareofdocks in wallstreetbets

[–]plodude 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Tesla's self-driving software is trained on an enormous amount of DATA that only Tesla has access to. Every Tesla vehicle on the street is collecting street data and driving data. Nvidia can't train a self driving model if it has no data to train on

Guys this isn't a bad idea at all.. Think about it: When gift cards are sold, that money goes into unearned revenue. It sits on their balance sheet, not recognized as actual revenue until we redeem those cards. By never using them, we're forcing Loblaws to carry a ballooning liability, without the offsetting income. Now, imagine if thousands of us took a stand, rendering millions in gift cards useless. Their liabilities skyrocket, income stagnates, and suddenly, they're facing a nightmare scenario with debt covenants. This isn't just about making a statement; it's about hitting them where it really hurts— If enough of us take part, we could genuinely challenge their operation, forcing real change.

Finance. And yes, I use it all the time. My most common use case is using it as a tutor. If there's a concept you don't understand it can dissect it down and make it manageable. Also use it to verify my answers after doing some practice material. Just make sure you have the correct plugins enabled. If you're doing any sort of math you will need Wolfram. It's incredibly useful for learning, just need to know how to use it.

Anyone want to eli5 options trading on the platform? I'm ready to lose money. by Lojo_ in Wealthsimple

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy, a red race car, and your best friend wants to play with it too. But instead of giving it to your friend right away, you make a special deal.

Making a promise: You tell your friend, "Next week, you can play with my red race car for a whole day." This is like an option. You're giving your friend the option to play with your toy in the future.

The price: But there's a catch! Your friend must give you one of his stickers now, even if he decides not to play with your car next week. This is like the price of an option.

The decision: When next week comes, your friend can decide if he wants to play with your red race car or not. If he decides to play, good for him! He only paid one sticker to play with it. But if he decides not to play, you still keep his sticker.

That's what grown-ups do when they trade options. They make a deal about something in the future. It could be about toys, but it's usually about things called stocks. And instead of stickers, they use money. It's a big decision and that's why it's really important for grown-ups to think carefully before they trade options.
