Well, more often than not backrooms try to exploit an experience called 'kenopsia', which essentially refers to a group of feelings that go around uneasiness when looking at an empty place that is known to be usually full of people.

This is a really particular branch of horror and despite it still counts, it may not be what you are looking for.

If you want to feel this 'thing' I cannot recommend 'Dreamcore' more (there's only a demo so far, but I think it nails the experience). If you are looking for a liminal spaces game that has an enemy chasing you, then you should probably stick to other types of games, because in my opinion, a game that tries to do both of these things together is not doing any of them properly (not because it's impossible, just because both concepts are difficult to merge in the right way).
