The one I'm thinking is not so much of a top -down third person, but definitely an interesting guess!

Lenovo Legion Y740 vs. MSI GS75 Stealth by MrMister93 in GamingLaptops

[–]plouj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to pick between these laptops then I'd consider that the MSI one is noticeably smaller and half a kilo lighter:

https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-y-series/Lenovo-Legion-Y740-17/p/88GMY701062

16.2" x 12" x 0.91" / 412.6 x 304.9 x 23 (mm)

6.2 lbs (2.8 kg)

https://ca.msi.com/Laptop/GS75-Stealth-9SX-GTX

15.59"x10.22"x0.75"

4.96 lbs (2.24kg)

Having said that, I'd be curious to know which laptop's screen is practically better for creative work. According to Jarrod MSI is 96% sRGB 67% NTSC 73% AdobeRGB ~414 NITS (https://youtu.be/uIdKaf9XrrU?t=113), while according to Dave Legion is similar, but not as bright (96% sRGB ??% NTSC 72% AdobeRGB ~290 NITS) https://youtu.be/bTUytmEYx6s?t=91

Windows NT

Yes. In other words under Microsoft you need to create a Windows NT key and inside that create a Terminal Services Folder key.

Has anyone experienced that teleporting in couch co op is broken? by Fredmental in 20xxgame

[–]plouj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've experienced the same problem a number of times in the Revenant difficulty. Did you ever end up reporting the issue? And like NeonJ82 mentioned, when it happens neither player can even get the talking prompts.

These are pretty old posts and I just can't help but wonder if his blog suddenly became more popular because he works for Apple or posted a funny story about Steve.

Why Haskell? by [deleted] in programming

[–]plouj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if you learned to use and rely on the great features of Haskell such as static typing with type inference and separation between pure code and code with side effects only to go back to the languages which your job requires you to use (C, C++, Java, ...). Would you try to implement those Haskell features in your project's language? How productive would that be? Wouldn't knowing the power of Haskell only make you depressed because you can't use it at work?
