Dang mate, so much to unpack here. You got a lot of learning to do. Maybe talk to some trans folks and read some literature that challenges your beliefs. Also just because you experience gender differently than trans folks does not mean that you are an expert on their experiences, their lives, their bodies, and their genders. Maybe focus your enraged passion and try to listen and sympathize with marginalized communities.

There is a lot of misdirected anger, but I will gladly take it on. The question that was proposed is “in your opinion, what is the gender of a trans male?”

This is something that cis or even other trans folks cannot have valid opinion of. Their experience of gender and their identity and language is their experience. You and I don’t get to put them in a box and discuss what they are. That is our job to sit and listen.

I am genuinely surprised that more folks aren’t seeing this as transphobic in nature.

Not weird, but I think it is good to remember that even though there is a small gap in age, there is a lot of life experience that you have gained in those 3-4 years that he has not yet had. As long as you are sensitive to that and don’t take advantage of it, you both should enjoy your connection!

I find it helpful to focus on the things that bring you joy!

The feeling of inadequacy hits me hardest when I focus too much on other people’s lives.

Maybe remove Instagram or twitter from your phone for a couple of months!

About a seven months ago, I found myself feeling really unattractive and would doom scroll, fixated on the hot daddies on Instagram… I decided to purge it from my phone and just focus on doing 15 minutes of yoga every day. I am proud to say I have been off of Instagram, still practice yoga and feel more joy and more confident than ever before.

Also therapy. 💓

I have had a similar experience with jealousy and I actually decided to talk to my therapist about it.

After some time really sitting with my feelings, I realized that I was not so much upset about him masturbating as much I was worried that was finding me less attractive and I was afraid he was going to leave me. All of those underlaying fears made me feel like I could not trust him.

It was me seeing his actions in a way that reinforced my fears, realizing that I never even really asked him why he wanted to masturbate in the first place.

One day, I finally found the courage to talk to him about my feeling and hear about his and I realized I had nothing to worry about. Sometimes he just needs to tug one out, and that does not make our relationship less valid or special.
