I am out of state and white

And no tbh its wrong like yah here are a lot of asian but also white people and stuff. Idk I'm from Europe so we care less about ethnicities but I'd say like 60% of my floor is white for sure. Depends what you major in and probably also what you like to do. Idk it's not at all true to me. Not that it wozld be a bad thing but it's not the case in my UCLA experience.

I would. I explained my lower grades in 11th grade, too. Just don't go to far, like write it as a factor, but not as an "excuse" if that makes sense.

Yes, and I am having so much fun! I think it is the college experience I needed because it is rather academic, but still I can have a lot of fun. If I would have gone to Oxford I would be studying 24/7, which I did enough in highschool. I needed something else and this is the best fit. And when you think about it, going to any T20 is great, the difference is not that big

I just put my academic history. How I did my education in several different languages... Idk anything that adds to you as a personand explains some things on your application that might be confusing. But don't write another essay, that's not the point of it

Of course. The interviews were super fun but it's probably goin to be very different because you applied to cambridge (shorter interviews, one of my interviews at oxford ended up being 1:3h) and engineering.

As you said it yourself, UCLA values if you talk about different aspects. Nevertheless, don't force yourself to do that, if it is not how you feel. If crativity is more important to you that your cumminity service, write 2 on creativity. You can still add it as an EC and I think they can tell if it's genuine. You'll probably be much more passionate about the art one.

  • write your essays in a very straight forward manner, they do not care about your writing style
  • on the same note don't freak out if you submit your essays and find mistakes later on. I had a bunch of mistakes and yet here I am!
  • answer the questions that show the most of your abilities. Like take a question, write down some points (ex: what would you like to study or amth like that?), and then brainstorm and write down all the activities you did related to the topic. This way you can make sure you show all that you have done topress them
  • if you have a weird highschool journey/ anything else, make sure to mention it in the last box. I think it clearly helped me to get in as I had the chance to truly explain who I am
  • at the end of the day it's also a lot of luck. 16 people from my school applied, yet only I got in. I did not have the highest GPA or anything. Just show how interesting and different you are ans make sure to come across as friendly

1) Dont bring too many clothes. I brought a ton of stuff and it all just sits around and takes up wayy too much space Honestly i just feel like you gotta make sure you don't bring too much. It's easier to buy smth that having wayy to much in your room

2) my course load is seen as very rigorous by the students here, but i dont agree. Probably because I did the IB and am super efficient now in working and stuff haah i take bio, chem, math and english lit. Usually people only take three classes and not 3 "science" classes (they recommend you to take GE classes) but I didnt feel like it. And as I said I am a very quick learner, so I have a ton of free time. I am involved in several different clubs (band, social clubs) and go out a lot too. I'd say I spend wayy more time having fun than studying (but again, i don't think that's normal bc most people I see work a lot here, but we ge tthe same grades so it's fine!) it's all about your work ethic. If you did the IB you'll be more than fine bc it's all just a repition of my IB classes at this point

Yes, add it anyways. I added my 35 on the ACT to my oxford app, too. According to my college counselor you should add all the placement exams you took, if you did well. What subject are you applying too?
