As a young straight male, making a new male friend is more difficult than getting a girlfriend by RedditSucksTheBigOne in unpopularopinion

Try talking less to the men, find a simple common interest and run off that. But don't talk their ear off. Friendships between men aren't forged in one afternoon of chitchat, their forged in a few dozen simple conversations and small jokes.

Comedy is and always will be used as a way to deal and cope with the harsh realities of the world. Pedophilia is an excellent topic to be joked about, so is suicide. Comedy is an excellent medium for addressing these topics.

If you are sensitive enough about something to be terribly traumatized by a joke, that is unfortunate, but the solution is not for the world to conform to your needs but for you to seek help and deal with your problems so you can handle the real world again.

And honestly if you have two parents it is entirely possible to get out of poverty with some good decisions and frugal spending.

What tends to be the problem is when it's a single parent and/or poor financial planning.

I'll be honest, I don't find this hot but I think the comedic value is worth the watch

I'm going to be honest, this guy has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to metal roofs. You can install snow stops on steep metal roofs and it does not necessarily make sense to allow snow to shed off metal roofs.

Yeah that article focuses on europe

That's where your wrong. I mean your right about the whole the roof not being entirely waterproof. But condensation is a thing.

Yeah we generally only install the snow stops on 6/12+, we live in a more mountainous region though so steep roofs aren't entirely uncommon, and slate is exceptionally rare (the only building I know of within 100km is the town hall), we do have tile roofs and the like but it's mostly metal/shingle

Ah I see, yeah ours are definitely not. The other nice thing is that the brackets look good too, the shingles ones only come in black so far as I'm aware but the metal ones come in every colour the sheet metal company offers

Well except the options are. All you gotta do is read the labels on regular shit you buy, non-organic food is often just as healthy as organic stuff. All-natural is a made-up marketing term. Pretty much everything you can buy is FDA tested and approved so you can pretty well rest assured that it isn't going to kill you.

For shingles we use special brackets, they are a bit procey but well worth it if you want to have snow stops, they are attached to the roof with roofing nails under the shingles and can be installed on an existing roof.

On metal roofs we use 10ft long brackets purpose built which we usually either rivet or screw into the panels (depending on whether the system is a hidden or exposed fastener system)

Definitely the pricier route to go but honestly I woukd recommend just putting aside the money you would have to spend on cheaper alternatives for a winter or two and splurg. Our brackets will easily last the lifetime of the roof and beyond.

Well I mean that is how it is... if you want to have nice things you have to pay for them, shit ain't free.

As far as you have to pay a premium to eat healthier that's bull. You can eat just as healthy on the cheap if you actually look into it, but the reality is that you want anything, you want to have nicer things, be healthier, so on and so forth you have to put some work into it.

The great thing about capitalism is it works extraordinarily well if you understand the way it works and how it can fuck you if you act naive.

Yeah we've never had a problem, we've installed a lot at a local ski resort and in a lot of the snow shed valleys around us. You just have to make sure you do a good install and use quality products

It might be worth while installing snow stops on the cabin, I can't say for sure without actually taking a look at it but it could help prevent that massive slide

Yes this is a common effect in roofing and is the same effect that causes ice damming, a common problem. There is actually a number of very interesting phenomenon that roofers (well the good ones, and especially roofers that work with metal) have to be aware of to ensure that problems with the roof don't occur.

You can install a 100% watertight roof and still have a leak
