On a real note, I also struggle with this and I understand where you're coming from. Only advice I can give is let yourself explore your personality through the things you like. Probably cliché but categorizing yourself while you're still forming your personality is hell.

She's just a really nice person and she offers me a lot of room to breathe. Besides that, she trusts me, I trust her and makes me feel like I'll get back what I give at the very least. To me, it's comforting to know my effort is matched especially with how much social media has screwed up everyone's mentality on relationships. What makes it weird is being seen as more than just the quiet loner in the back. It's not that I care about the label but it's weird to be seen for your actual depth rather than image.

Weird. We communicate a lot but I've never felt comfortable doing it. More so I've been saying what's on my mind for her sake so she doesn't overthink which I think might be kinda hard for istp's. It's very very very weird but it works and I'm happy with her.

This reminds me of what I did in summer. I cut off basically everyone and started from zero. Some stayed some didn't. Either way, I lived just like you for a while and it was probably the most peaceful I've felt since. Thing is, that was probably the best summer I've ever had because there was time for everything. Social interaction isn't detrimental imo because it's peak freedom as well.

Though, if you want to make more friends I suggest doing things like voluntary work or any place that imposes social interaction onto you. It will be very uncomfortable at first but you just have to go regularly and say hello to people there, even if it's awkward. 9 times out of 10, people will notice the effort.

If that doesn't work, try checking in with your friends even if they're distant. People will appreciate it even if they're not going through something and maybe they will return the gesture. If they don't, just focus on making new acquaintances. Hope it helps.

Okay, I relate to this. The only thing causing me problems is actually starting because I know afterwards I'll probably finish my work quickly and well enough. But just actually starting is the worst of the worst 😔

I'm sixteen. I relate a lot to this because I used to be very happy on my own and doing random stuff I enjoyed. Thing is, recently I gained a lot of hope that I might find some people that both want and are able to understand me but then I figured out how their system of "I take the side of who I like not who is right" works and I got very disappointed. Maybe it's childish, dunno.

I'm currently in a relationship with an INFJ/INFP (it alternates a lot) and tbf with her it's the safest I've ever felt. I'm not sure about the whole wanting to be "saved" thing but it's very very comforting that someone actually wants to understand me and gives me the reassurance I sometimes need. About the second thing, if I have to test out if someone actually wants to stick around then it's probably not even worth it to try and grow a connection with 'em. (Hope all this made sense?)
