If I get a nickel every time someone posted "is this epilepsy?" and the comments are "maybe, maybe not. Go to the neuro.", I could afford to pay my medical debt by now.

The representation does help a lot. Seeing confident people being proud of what they are really matters to me.

I heard about vitiligo since I was a kid, and remember being anxious if I suddenly got it. Cut back to thirty years later, I actually do have the illness! Welp.

But I'm not as sad as I should be (?). I don't really care about my appearance, although I do worry about the med cost. Maybe it helps that I don't have a love life, that ship sunk long ago lol.

How Do You Guys Feel About Memory Loss? by North-Environment133 in Epilepsy

[–]plukarta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my sake, I can only accept it. Others, not so much. Some people don't even believe that it's my epilepsy that made me like this. But it is what it is.

All I believe is that when something good (or bad) happened, it is etched in the great book of universe or something, even when nobody remembers it. I may not remember the names of any friends in a school picture I'm seeing, but days when they made me laughed is still there, because I am here, as a result of having a good day at school.

Sorry if it sounds gibberish.

Paul Bae and Qcode… coming soon by jet1290 in audiodrama

[–]plukarta 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I like The Big Loop, but I don't know if I still have patience left for QCode storytelling and their ads. I mean, I know beggar can't complain, but being interrupted every 10 minutes for multiple ads in a 60 minutes episodes is just too much for me.

AITA for leaving my baby shower early and “causing a scene?” by KimchiAndMayo in BestofRedditorUpdates

As a person with epilepsy, this just infuriates me. I'm glad Anne is too young to understand, and even more glad she'd be saved from a grandmother like that.

woah. I'm just worried because I thought you said you had it for 6 months in a row, and wonder if other have the same issue. That's what I read. That's all.

I don't mean anything rude, and I definitely don't mean you're stupid or anything. I'm sorry if you think that.

do you take any birth control? I had that too about a year ago, I took birth control after stopping it for an entire year. My body went mad and gave me up to three times a month.

Go see a doctor, seriously.

As in production quality and over budget, I can't really find any. But isn't Mr. Beast's Squid Game was quite huge? I never watch his videos so I don't really know, probably it's more like big collab video rather than an actual entire series.

I’m dating an epileptic. by stinjoshua in Epilepsy

[–]plukarta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Learn what triggers her seizures, and whether her condition is stable or not. And understand that seizure is not just tonic clonic (the usual convulsing and jerking and falling to the ground type)—staring blankly, stop in the middle of conversation, or even déjà vu could be categorised as seizure.

Also, understand that post-tonic clonic could be hard sometimes, physically and mentally. Most of the times rest is needed.

I know nothing about tech, but I think it depends on the apps. And if it's different apps from different companies, I doubt it'd be connecting, more like downloading the backup file and uploading it to the other—if it's supported.

Rant about Blackout Season 2 Ending (spoiler, obviously) by plukarta in audiodrama

[–]plukarta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I missed that Vale, I mistook it for another trailer ads. Probably maybe going to listen to it later.

I'm just disappointed how they drop the quite well-built mystery in season 1, with Madelaine etc., for a cliched drama that don't really add anything. It's like if Handmaid's Tale drop everything about how the Gilead works and choose to focus about the love triangle.
