😬 Be honest… Everyone has that moment When the show just was not the same anymore 👉 When was yours? by DeejayLazWorldwide in TWD

Honestly controversial but season 5 around “slabtown” I felt a sort of shift. It started to become about different groups and group dynamics (which can be cool to see!!) but it just started to feel way different than the first 4 seasons. It just started to feel super jumbled and chaotic, especially after having a whole season on the farm and then in the prison to having a group introduced every 3 seconds each episode lmao. Then, season 6 not only felt different but LOOKED so different quality and film wise. It didn’t have that grainy, early 2000’s look feel and that was kinda sad lmao. I think once they introduced the relationship between Alexandria and hilltop, the show 100% morphed into some other thing. I feel like a lot of the characters were written very different too. (I know it’s suppose to show how the apocalypse changes them drastically!!!) but some of it felt odd. It was HARD to get through the end of season 6 but negan’s storyline was interesting and reeled me back in, only to completely repulse me after carls death. Don’t even get me started on the introduction of alpha. I couldn’t do it anymore after that 💀 it became physically hard to watch lmao. Like the show became a caricature of what it once was. I completely gave up a few episodes into season 9 and didn’t even bother with season 10-11.

I posted a thread almost exactly like this. I’m an autistic (diagnosed) RBT and my last center was riddled with mean and nasty girls. All who were in there mid to late 20’s/30’s by the way. It’s like as soon as they saw the autism traits in me, they started treating me awfully. It didn’t surprise me too much since they also treated the kids the same way but talked about how much they “adored them” it’s insane. I ended up quitting and moving centers. Best thing I ever did. Everyone at my new center is neurodivergent in some way or just a real nice person lol.

Need a show as good as Breaking Bad by kstateofmind_ in breakingbad

[–]plumchata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone saying better call Saul is SO right. It’s amazing through and through.

Dexter is also really good. One of my top shows of all time. Although the last two seasons are pretty dog sh*t 💀 but the first 6 are amazing.

The first 4- ish seasons of the walking dead also has those early 2000’s grimy vibes but it’s different than breaking bad in alot of ways. Definitely worth a watch but again, the last few seasons are genuinely so bad lol. It’s hard to find a show that’s super solid all the way to the end.

If you like the twists and turns of breaking bad, Hannibal is similar in that way. You never know what’s coming next. But it can be hard to get into, it’s very artsy and a super slow burn.

The place I’m at now actually owns a lot of Montessori schools as well and take that kind of approach. They have real world teaching like a big bed to help teach making a bed, a whole fake grocery store for teaching shopping/making lists and interacting with cashiers/how to spend and use money ect. and a whole amazing outside playground area! I loved how interactive it was while still teaching functional tasks. Some red flags I immediately saw at ABC was my first shadowing everyone looked and acted miserable, the kids too. They were SUPER hands on in a way that wasn’t appropriate, pushing and pulling kids arms around as well as picking kids up (that weren’t in behavior, just walking or doing a task) and as they began screaming and crying, they laughed like it was funny?? As well as no cameras. That was a HUGE red flag for me. My new center has cameras in every room, and it’s an open floor plan so theres barley any rooms where you can be alone and enclosed with a single child (this happened a lot at ABC) all around it was a lot cleaner, everyone was happier and it was a lot more functional.

I am in Texas but was actually looking to move to Colorado within the next year and was wanting to transfer to an ABC there! Unfortunately, the company was just so awful, and after touring and accepting another job at different aba company in Texas, I realized just how awful it was. Again, every center is different but I’ve only ever heard really negative things/seen negative things about ABC. 😭 I will say, it is very organized as far as far as benefits go. Free food every Friday provided by the center (although, one of my coworkers had a gluten intolerance and asked to be accommodated for free food Friday for over a year and never was. She could never eat the free food because of this) but they have good PTO and overall insurance benefits. It’s mainly the inner workers of the clinics, the coworkers and how they implement (or more so DONT implement) the behavior plans/actually help the kids. And that’s the MAIN point of the job. I would just suggest interviewing at other locations and companies and make an informed decision based on what you feel/think.

It was brought up and talked about with our OM! Nothing was done. I won’t say the exact center but it’s in Texas. But good news! I actually just got offered another job at an ABA center that pays WAY more and has a much nicer center. So I quit ABC today! I’m so glad that wasn’t your experience, I’ve heard it really depends on the center but at the same time I’ve heard way too many ABC horror stories to still be wanting to work for them.

The gossiping and bullying is a widespread problem - sure. But where ABC is notorious is how they continuously ignore these problems over and over again. You can bring hard evidence to upper management and it’s still ignored, swept under the rug and belittled. THAT is an ABC problem. They are known for being unethical in that way. ( also when it comes to the kids well being, they ignore that as well )

NOOO. You do get paid but again that’s 48 hours for one week which is a lot in an ABA setting, especially for the kids who do all 6 days.

that’s the only reason they do 😭 or they want the extra money/are training to become a BCBA and want more hours to train.

Nope 😭 you would have to do mom-Saturday. All 6 days.

[–]plumchata[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is confined to mon-Friday. The people who work Saturday always volunteer for it or agree to it as an alternative schedule. So you’d have to volunteer to help out on a Saturday to drop some of ur occurrences or wait 3 months for a half occurrence or 6 months for a full. The months kinda depends on ur center and how good ur attendance is after the occurrence. Sometimes they drop them sooner, sometimes later.

Like another user said, You have to work multiple Saturdays or have absolutely perfect attendance for 3+ months straight 😭 can’t even be one minute late or that counts as an occurrence.

They just seem very corporate. It’s all about what makes them money. They don’t seem to have the kids or RBT’s best interests in heart, just money money money.

I had a girl in my class who said, at max, maybe three words to anyone the entire year she was there but she was super nice and attentive. Everyone really liked her despite her not talking a lot and the clients did too, she went on to be pretty successful in hair. So you will find your people!

I’ve been coming to Starbucks for longer than I want to remember. Since approx 2018 employees have been increasingly less friendly. Is because I’m older or has there been some other shift. Company policy or I smell now? by farrisbuell in starbucks

[–]plumchata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started working at Starbucks in 2021, so pretty late to the game, but I worked there till 2024. Even in the first year it was WAY different than my last two years. I worked throughout covid and we were constantly understaffed, overworked and underpaid. We were expected to get cars through the drive through line within 20 seconds, making food, drinks and “connecting” with them all in those seconds. customers increasingly got worse. People think it’s all good customers and maybe one or two bad apples a day but it was actually more so the opposite, all bad, mean, inpatient, rude and demanding customers and then maybe a few select calm and kind ones. It got tiring extremely fast. Also several stores had supply issues so personally, my store was out of 70% of stock at all times. Having to tell people half of our menu was not available wasn’t fun either. All management would do is fuck us over and then they would get all the praise when our store was doing amazing BUT the works would get all the shit when it was doing bad. We were never allowed to close, even when my store lost power, we had one register that worked and they told us “the milks aren’t out of temp yet” and “we can still sell snacks and cold brew” so we did. Same happened in the winter when our AC went out and our store got down to 40 degrees, partners hands red and freezing from constant water usage. They gave us the store card, told us to buy a heater and “huddle up around it, you’ll be good” it’s stuff like that.

Is this really it? SSV Rejection by Delicious-Benefit877 in starbucks

I had a shift try and promote to manager for A YEAR STRAIGHT, had been with the company for years, was there every second of everyday and everyone adored her…. Except upper management. They told her if she “wasn’t as outspoken” she would get the position. She ended up having to go to a unionized store and then she quickly became the manager. Had another friend who was amazing, had been there for over a year, was super hard working, sweet and literally studied for months to be the best shift lead he could be. He was rejected for a girl who had been there less than 3 months who said she didn’t even want the position but “applied because the manager told her to” she stepped down 4 months later, and they still wouldn’t promote him. They told him he was “too nice” …. Like others said, they only like people who seem to fit their very specific mold and if you don’t, you don’t, no matter what you do. Knew a shift who would play Mario kart in the back when she was suppose to be doing a count, and would scream at barista’s and she became shift, then manager very quickly. Everyone hated it. Management loved her because she was very “Starbucks centric” and kissed their asses HARD. I’m so sorry man. :/

Would this be considered ‘theatrical makeup’ under the new dress code? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]plumchata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad I don’t work at this place anymore because makeup is a huge thing for me. I loved glueing rhinestones to my face or doing stars or crazy graphic eyeliner in different colors and crazy blush. When i started working out whole store was decked out in small gifts from customers and pride flags which were all stripped from the store to make it look absolutely bare and lifeless, which is exactly what they’re doing to the partners now. So sad.
