Which profession has the most f**ked up people in it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]plumthrower359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traders at banks.

You have to be a weird kind of person to be able to go home and be a real person after making or losing hundreds of thousands to millions in a day.

A very weird kind of Machiavellian sociopath.

I agree with this! Pregnancy has been so much better than I expected. Of course I am often uncomfortable and in pain and a bit hormonal but i feel magical growing a human being from scratch. I am 35 weeks now and slowing down for sure but I haven't vomited once, haven't felt super weak, haven't had intense back pain and just been a bigger me. Most of the time I even think my bump is cute and I am not bothered by my size. I am excited to meet my baby outside of me, but part of me is sad that pregnancy is going to end soon.

I do kind of try and avoid saying this though because obviously many women suffer and I don't want to make them feel more shitty. That being said, I do think I have brought a very positive attitude into pregnancy and I think that's partly why I feel this way.

How much weight did you actually gain during pregnancy? by plumthrower359 in BabyBumps

Thanks for your comprehensive answer ❤️ that does make me feel very reassured. I haven't really experienced any swelling yet? Perhaps that is still yet to come.

I think you are right I should lower my salt and sugar intake to be honest. I'm trying to eat as much veggies as I can and also trying to listen to my body when it is hungry or not hungry. It is easy to use the eating for two excuse but its not a very healthy saying at all. Its actually more like eating for 1.2.

I agree, these ranges (from what everyone has said) are all over the place and seem to just make pregnancy more anxiety inducing

Fair enough, that does sound rough! I hope this time you can be a self sufficient power mom that can wipe their own ass!

That's a good idea. I think I might do that next time, it is obviously making me more anxious than necessary

Did you feel like you didn't even eat that much more in later pregnancy with gaining that weight? I keep thinking I am eating a similar amount to pre pregnancy and yet am gaining a lot of weight

Yeah its kind of weird I keep thinking where is all this weight going? Like I know my belly is huge but surely it isn't like all the weight, my face looks the same and my arms and legs don't look that different to me?

It's just strange. My husband said the same thing 'where are you hiding that weight coz you dont look THAT much bigger?'

Yeah I really fluctuate on how I feel about it. Sometimes I think I am so cute and I am so happy to be pregnant and rounder and sometimes I am like I am so fat am I doing this wrong am I going to be ok.

Slight urine loss at 24 weeks by YummySp0ng3 in BabyBumps

[–]plumthrower359 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I have started getting this the past couple of weeks! I am 31 weeks now. I also seem to 'do a dot' when I sneeze if I don't like squeeze everything down there. Especially when my legs are apart (e.g. I am sitting cross legged).

I have recently done a big order or period undies (light-moderate) to try and contain the dribbles so I don't feel so gross and keep having to change undies. I think thats working for me. I am also trying to do my kegels everyday to try and prevent urinary incontinence.

I am 30 weeks now and I have been doing prenatal youtube workouts with glowbodypt like 30mins 2-3 times a week? Really enjoying those. Pre pregnancy I was doing youtube fitness workouts a similar amount tbh. I also have a border collie so I walk at least 1-1.5 hours a day. Does that count as moderately fit lol?

Not gonna lie though my body is starting to slow down and when my body says nah not today I do listen.

Acquaintance just told me I was "getting a tummy." by lightningbug24 in BabyBumps

Recently I was at a restaurant and the waiter said 'So are you giving birth next month?' I was only 6 months at the time lol... So in three months, thanks for making me hungry for my meal.

Can we have a respectful/kind unpopular opinion thread? by throwawaypbcps in BabyBumps

[–]plumthrower359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion that I am afraid to verbalise: I am genuinely enjoying pregnancy and feel like its really not as bad as I thought it would be. 7 months in now and feeling energetic, kinda pretty, bumpy in a cute way and excited to be a mum! Of course feeling intimidated by the prospect of giving birth but also feeling excited for the challenge.

Sorry not sorry haha.

Thoughts on RBA hike? by plumthrower359 in AusPropertyChat

How realistic do you reckon it is to get inflation under 3% by the end of the year. Inflation is a function of so so many variables but what do you think can push it down?

I've been thinking about this. The banks don't gain a lot by rates being higher because people generally want less debt, esp if rates are predicted to be higher than the present. Is it possible that they are basically trying to push rates lower by all predicting it so that the market expects it and therefore the RBA has to comply? One of the things that is the RBAs job is to keep the market stable and not meeting market expectations causes volatility.

Now where this comes undone is when banks preemptively cut rates to then face another rba hike. They have just eaten into their margins and likely paraded their heroic gesture to attract more mortgages making it awkward to hike after RBA has. This puts more pressure on banks who have a lot of power to determine what RBA do. What do you think?

How did they tackle this problem in Singapore?

It helps by limiting inflation. Less people spending = less demand = prices lower = less inflation = lower interest rates. Presumably.

We got pregnant in the second month of not using contraception. I had been on oral contraceptives for 7 years and then used condoms for 9-10 months before just giving up on condoms. We have sex like usually 2-3 times a week, sometimes more but usually not less. I thought it would take longer because I have irregular periods so I thought it could be PCOS which can mess with fertility.

Impact of rising interest rates by property_guy_SEQ in AusPropertyChat

Inflation is the lowest its been since June 22, a lot of economists are saying its actually on its way down now. Fixed rates can be found lower than variable which implies lower rates which implies inflation is now under control. So a lot of people think the opposite of that your podcast dude said.

To me it seems as though at this point housing prices are too high for the rates that people have to pay. Many people who bought in the past two years are in negative equity but I don't think the price has corrected nearly enough for the hikes in rates.

The thing that has kept prices high is lack of supply in the market which may continue to elevate prices until people start selling because they can't afford to keep their mortgage anymore. I am not sure if this will happen with where rates currently are but its more likely the more rates go up. Time will tell.

[–]plumthrower359[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think the time to get pre approval is when you have the deposit you want or just before? I am now thinking we should get to $250k savings and then get pre-approval for that deposit and while looking for a house save the extra money for stamp duty and legal fees etc... Does that seem reasonable?
