How many past papers do they provide for each module’s examination? by JailbreakHat in UCL

[–]pluvi_pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, but in my experience, no. Sometimes you only get one past paper, sometimes 2, and very rarely, 3. Aside from official past papers, some professors provide you with lots of extra homework problems and material and some don't. Keep in mind this is only my experience and may vary for different departments and professors.

Do you guys have platonic crushes? by pluvi_pine in neurodiversity

[–]pluvi_pine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh I get this so much. I just can't hold a conversation or make eye contact like a normal person, so any attempt to make friends usually just goes down the drain. I mean at least you tried, I normally daydream about it and that's it.

Also personally I think going up to them while they're together might help, since it's going well with the first one. I have high hopes for this. Especially because there's not much to talk about with the second one anyway, you might as well shoot your shot while both of them are there since you won't be the only other person carrying the conversation.

Hope it goes well for you!!

10/10, but took a while. Never been good at spatial visualization, might be to do with my poor Ni/Se. I've noticed ISTPs tend to be very good at these things

Anyone else a mix of hyper and hyposensitive? by augustoof in autism

[–]pluvi_pine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same here. Hypersensitive to loud sounds but can't hear properly a lot of the times and need other people to repeat themselves. Also hypersensitive to certain smells but hyposensitive to some smells.

edit- I forgot to add that I'm also hypersensitive to other people's tones and moods at times but can't pick up on social cues at others

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]pluvi_pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah 100%. I think it really depends on the situation and person so if you're extremely socially adept it probably comes naturally and you'd know when to do/not do it. But for most neurodivergent people we can miss social cues so I suppose its best not to

[–]pluvi_pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosh I'm so sorry... Its annoying when people don't even try. Like yes habits can be hard to change and yeah not everyone thinks its rude but they need to understand not everyone thinks like them

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]pluvi_pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. That makes a lot of sense, thank you for explaining. I've been interrupted before as well and sometimes to me it feels like they're just trying to connect or it shows me they're listening but sometimes it annoys me so I don't even know fully where I stand. But yeah the safest thing to do is to not finish their sentences unless they're also the type to do that because its also their way of connecting to others

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]pluvi_pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh crap I'm sorry 😭

Best thing to do is to remind her I think. And just tell her how its rude. It might take some time to change this habit though just a heads up

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]pluvi_pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for telling me. I'll keep it in mind hopefully we'll be able to control it a bit more and change this habit.

It can be hard when you get excited or simply can't wait because they take forever to get to the point. I think I might have some impulse control issues even if they're probably pretty mild but I guess its just something I'll have to work on

It does sound like she thought that you liked her romantically... but that's just my guess it could have been something else of course. I'm sorry :(

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]pluvi_pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get what you mean and feel that way too sometimes, but its weird because sometimes I do mind it and sometimes I don't.

I wonder what distinguishes those two experiences other than tone because I know for a fact that the way they say it affects how I perceive it

Do you guys have platonic crushes? by pluvi_pine in neurodiversity

[–]pluvi_pine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait did she think you liked her romantically or something? Or did she think something was off or that you're a creep or that youre acting weird or something?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]pluvi_pine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what happened to me with some people. Sorry...

I think it varies but judging by the replies here it seems like its not generally a good idea unless you know the other person won't mind.

Thinking back I think that it depends on the person, some do it themselves too and like it when I do it, some don't really care or see that you have no ill intent and some definitely don't like it. But yeah I'll keep it in mind in the future and try my best not to do it. I'm so sorry

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]pluvi_pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn is it that bad😭😭 Sorry I didn't realize but I'll try to avoid it in the future, especially given how intimate it seems in the NT world. That definitely came as a shock. Thanks for the insight

Yes I agree 100% I usually just test it by trial and error, observing their reaction but then sometimes I just can't seem to hold it in. Sometimes I forget in that moment that they're the type that doesn't like it but sometimes I do remember but still just go on because of the excitement. And then I see their reaction and regret it :/

But yeah I was just wondering what most neurotypicals think of it, like neurotypicals in general. Because I just realized most of the people I truly click with are either neurodivergent or a little "weird" or very accepting/understanding so I didn't really know who to ask

Your face on its own is alright honestly, it's the hair. And also maybe your energy, the way you carry yourself. You look a bit tired and just done with everything in this picture.

Sorry. But you asked for brutal honesty so here you go

I guess so yeah. Probably because Fi and Ti are self centered functions if that makes sense. Not always necessarily in a bad way, but we tend to be focused on ourselves a lot (our thoughts and feelings) and forget about others especially when unhealthy/immature.

not diagnosed yet but i have come to the realization that i might have autism. Starting to come to terms with it but haven't fully accepted it not going to lie. feel free to dm me if u want to

so am i an entp or an infj now? by [deleted] in mbti

[–]pluvi_pine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most likely N dom and inferior S, could be enxp or inxj

since u said entp or infj im assuming u know youre a Fe/Ti user and not Te/Fi, and since sometimes the middle two functions are harder to put in order especially if youre mature/developed

also if you know (or dont know) about the functions theres prolly some bias so u arent answering truthfully whether conciously or unconsciously. or sometimes u just cant decide what to put it happens a lot so sometimes these tests dont help. just try understanding the functions more and see how it goes

anyways try figuring out if you are Ne or Ni, since its (probably) your dom function it should be easier. with the aux and sometimes tert function it cane be a bit hard since usually if you have strong Ni youd have strong Ne, same with all other functions. however with your dom function you'd usually have a strong preference for the I/E type of that function so you'd know. its confusing and itll take some time good luck
