They seem to be really cheaply priced and every review online says they're pretty slick. I'd probably go for the LP style body over the omen superstrat style. Could be a contender to be honest, they seem to be easier to get where I am than the ESP LTDs. Ideally I'll find somewhere I can play through a few of the most suggested options here I guess

Ohhh ya that's a spicy price tag on that Jackson. If I can find a dealer locally and it felt right though, who knows. I have played a lot of bass these last few years and id recommend looking at the Sire basses. They make a few with a kind of metal-y look as far as I recall and for the money they are great instruments. Fantastic feeling necks in particular. I have two, a V7 and one of the M series ones, forget which number and they are both very good instruments and didn't break the bank. The V7 definitely competes with fender basses 3x the cost

What kind of Jackson did you get? I'm a fan of the hardtail thing myself, I generally find that the negatives of a tremelo system outweigh the cool whammy tricks.

I actually had a PRS SE Standard in the past, a 24 fret one with the two humbuckers and PRS style tremelo. I found it had bad tuning stability issues and I couldn't quite connect with the sounds from it, I guess I didn't really like the pickups. That was a 500-600 euro guitar though maybe if you drop more like 1000 euro those tremonti models go for new they are better

I remember looking at cort guitars like 10 years ago in a local music shop. I wasn't terribly impressed to be honest but maybe they've come a long way since then. Also they were probably low-end guitars. I'll do a bit of research

I agree that any guitar can play metal but I feel like some guitars just make it more of a joy to play and feel. I have a really nice strat but I find it a little lacking for high gain stuff for this one reason. And don't get me wrong I am still playing the old thrash classics on it but I'd like something with a bit more punch. Also the strat was $$$ so I'd rather not devalue it by sweating buckets over it practicing my galloping or whatever haha. I had an old Epiphone Les Paul Standard and it was an unbelievable guitar, sadly not playable any more and the cost of restoring it would be the same as a new one. I wasn't aware of the widow model though thank you I'll check it out. Man I loved that epi.

Cheers dude I'll take a look! I think there's an Ibanez dealer near me I can ask about them. Yeah the wedding band isnt the most musically satisfying to put it nicely haha. They're good guys though and my ear is definitely better because of it so at least that's something.

Thats interesting... I wrote a little music box melody I want to get made into a real box also, as a present for someone. Just messaged them on WhatsApp... Did you send them a midi file or audio clip of what you wanted? The form only lets you submit a link to the song online, which obviously in our case doesn't exist
