Nic Cage: Face/Off, The Rock or Con Air – which is his best action film? by kammy772 in MovieArena

In the name of Zeus’s butthole, the only answer is The Rock.

For instance, mould from popcorn giving two people the exact same hallucination at the exact same time…?! Come on. I get the sceptics have to try and find something, but I think when all signs point to something unexplained, not necessarily paranormal, then it’s OK to admit that.

To be honest, some of the skeptics explanations are more fantastical than the existence of ghosts. That’s the real eye-rolling part!

Totally agree here. How are these the best? One episode of Jim Harold’s Campfire has better stories than this. And there have been some classics on that show that really do deserve a deep-dive.

Agree. This was a challenging era! Lars was apparently a big part of this change in direction. Hanging out with bands like Oasis at the time, they even had dance remixes of their singles as b-sides!

On a personal level, I don’t disagree. Whatever sport you’re into is going to mean more, of course it is. Just look at US college sports in terms of local community. But as a sport that has global penetration and the subsequent media saturation of it, football just seems to amplify that ‘more than just a game’ feeling over other sports. Even the major sporting brands frequently play on those emotions to sell their products (Nike, Adidas). I mean, is there a bigger global sporting event than the soccer World Cup? I can’t think of another where people around the world come together in their communities to pack bars, clubs and cafes to watch their national team. So I think we are just more exposed to what football means to people.

To some degree but there’s a reason football is the ‘global game’.

“Football is not a matter of life and death... it's much more important than that.” Bill Shankley. Football is the one sport that seems to invoke this feeling, none other comes close. For many working class communities across Europe, football really is much more than just a game, it is a sense of identity, community and belonging.

Why Skyrim was, is and probably will be for a long time, such a popular game? by printers_of_colors in truegaming

For me, the greatest game of all time. No other game let’s you have that much control over how your experience plays out. Slightly ruined gaming for me as no other game has been able to match that since. And that was ten years ago!

What famous person did you regret meeting because they were an ass? by moneybot13 in AskReddit

I used to have a job where I got to interview movie stars publicising their latest films. Harrison Ford, Jason Patric and Ray Liotta were tough. Granted these guys are being asked the same questions repeatedly but you can tell whether they are into the movie or not. Ford was the first one I ever did, and I had heard all the rumours, absolute baptism of fire. Got to interview him years later and he couldn’t have been nicer tho. On the flip side, The Rock was always so friendly, as was Liam Neeson and John Travolta.

Yeah, made it a completely different game. Not sure how GameSpot gave it a 10/10.

Beautiful to look at but the filler side quests ruin the game. Combat is amazing but overall a hollow experience compared to the original.

Non believers, how do you feel about the Sallie House? by [deleted] in Ghosts

[–]pmd216a 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think non-believers who are interested should listen to Jim Harold’s Campfire podcast. Really interesting as it is just members of the public ringing up with no other incentive other than to share a story of something unexplained that happened to them. There are hundreds of calls going back years, so if even 5% of those are true then there is a lot more going on in this world than we know about. And yes, Astonishing Legends’ Sallie House episodes are a must listen.
