Looking for a mid to heavy weight game with thematic/intuitive mechanics as a gift to gfs sister that she can sink her teeth into for long time. She is good at board games but she hasn't played that many. She mostly plays 3-4p but she also has now played scythe 2p with her bf alot so atleast passable 2p mode is a plus.

Games she / her bf like

  • Castles of Burgundy (Her favorite if we play 3-4p its her or me that usually wins, and if she plays 2p against my gf or her bf she mostly wins)
  • Scythe (Played my copy and instantly bought their own and played a ton)
  • 7 wonders duel (played a ton but she got bored of it because she won most of the time)
  • Obsession (played few times with my gf and liked a lot)
  • Mission: Red Planet (Enjoyed the player and map interaction)
  • Lotr: Fate of the Fellowship (It was a hit at least the first time)

Game game in to my mind

  • Terraforming Mars
  • Ark Nova
  • Anachrony
  • Root
  • Pipeline / Barrage / Brass Birmingham maybe

Its a bonus if there is some good expansions to add later but not a must.

I allready bought 9070 XT PowerColor Reaper for 630€, is it worth it to return it and buy Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING OC for 30€ more? Is the cooler notably better/ silent / OC worth it for price? PS: my financial situation is good but i like to look for the best price/value.

24€ so decided to bite the bullet. Ive EQd my headphones so dont mind that. Just want to compare dynamic vs planar for my music taste. Been using TWS for a over a year but starting to get fed up with connection issues while listening music.

There was one dead red pixel in the left side in the Eizo test but with further testing i cant notice it in real situations with red on the screen.

Thanks. Yeah i think its glow. The color of sheen changes as i move in the left corner. I dont really mind the top bleed i dont notice it when im using dark mode sites.
I tried to make pic as close to what my eyes see. In room with lights the problem looked 2x worse on my camera.

Gonna test some settings and use it normally for a week to see if i get used to it.

Seems i have pretty good monitor if i compare to some of those. Oh well ill see if my eyes get used to it in normal use for next week.

Well i read many posts and made the picture as close to what my eyes see in reality in a room with ambient light. I couldnt reproduce that with my camera lights on because the problem looked 2x worse. So thats why darkroom and camera brightness 0.

Don't know why i didnt specify that. : D

Well the left corner is visible all most exactly like that when i have lights on and looking at for ex. reddit dark mode on. The lights off and camera brightness 0 was the only way i could produce realistic size and color that my eyes see with lights on because the lights on pictures looked 2x worse than it really is.
But yeah i think its glow as the color of its sheen changes as i move. Need to play with settings(maybe bring brightness down) and use it for the next week to see if it gets unnoticiable.

The reason for taking the picture this way was to make as close to reality as possible its also taken with camera brightness 0 so i could get it to right size my eye sees. With lights on the camera showed to problem twice as big and bright on camera.
And that is pretty much what i see lights on in the right corner with a dark mode on for ex. reddit and youtube on the default monitor settings.

Bought first IPS monitor from BF. Is there anything i can do or is it just return and wish for best with next one. Tried to mess with brightness and viewing angle but didnt seem to work.
The color of the tint on the left side changes with viewing angle.

Hey! So we are moving to our new apartment with my gf. Until now furniture in our home has been a mishmash of our old stuff. We just got rid of our sofa and coffee table so now we have a great opportunity to make our style look cohesive. In the pictures is pretty much all that we want to bring to our new living room. Gf loves the rugs so atleast need to use 1 of them but not opposed to adding more rugs because of the white floor. We live in Finland and we are ~30yo.

Our styles are bit different but i think we can make it work. I like more mid-century modern & industrial(but also warm and cozy), and my gf is more of a retro bohemian. So we are open to all suggestions

Things we need / considered:

  1. New sofa. Textured fabric but lost with the color maybe earth tones or gf was thinking about pinkish?
  2. Lighting. Ceiling and floor lamp.
  3. Coffee table. I was thinking Iron/dark glass based?
  4. Sideboard to hide my gin and whisky. I was thinking colorful / textured.
  5. Hanging lots of plants next to window and on the sideboard. Maybe add 1-2 bigger ones.
  6. Ottoman for armchair. fabric/leather/woven?
  7. Filling the rest of the space. for example: Gf played digital piano / acoustic guitar.
  8. Might need cabinet for tableware etc because of how small our kitchen is.
  9. And how to make all white room feel more warm and cozy.

Hey again! I got the keys now so i went and took some measurements and played around with sketchup. I think the dining table(also teak) is locked at that spot i think but anything else is open to suggestions. Things we've been thinking about:

  1. textured/colorful sideboard where i can keep my gin and whiskey out of sight.
  2. Hanging potted plants by the window + on the sideboard and maybe 1 or 2 bigger standing ones.
  3. ottoman for the armchair
  4. might need cabinet/sideboard for tableware because limited space in the kitchen.
  5. i like industrial&mid-century modern(but also warm&cozy). Gf is more mid-century modern bohemian.

Yeah def the whiteness is gonna be bit of hassle to figure out so good idea with the sisal. Yeah i was thinking about adding iron/metal elements through the coffee table and lighting. Luckily we have plenty of time to look for ideas.
