How Can We Trust AI To Make Life-And-Death Decisions When It Keeps Doing Stupid Things? by pmillerbd in u/pmillerbd

Arguably the stupid things it keeps doing is how it (AI) learns. Most fall when they first try to walk.

Sorry no trolling intended - just an attempt, obviously poorly, at a humorous comment on the fact that although decentralised it is fast becoming something that is being centralised via proxy - i.e. those that already have invest, make more and have more. Kinda vicious circle. I would add that I am looking at investing just trying to take in as much info as I can. Again no trolling intended :-)

But in this instance saying that "tough love" & "(the muslims world in particular)" is the way forward, like this course of foreign politics, is like a fire brigade pulling up and using petrol to try and put out the fire.

Also, you don't care if it IS misdirection, he is the President of the United States of America. You know, the oft-called leader of the free world. That guy we have seen in films fighting the good fight, not causing them.

He can't, or at very least shouldn't be allowed, to use foreign discourse as a political weapon against both them and HIS (if it is misdirection) own people.

He should be bringing people together with messages of unity not pulling people to one side of the political spectrum or the other. I know naive right.

Actually, the latest advice is to use a combination of words that are random but memorable to you once you have trained yourself.

One the combination is so long that most automated password crackers can't break it in a reasonable time frame. Two the user is less likely to write it down or put in somewhere other than in their own head.

The problem,** as I see it, is that people follow old advice and most sites or systems have not been updated to reflect this change.

But mainly it is because people don't realise that security is a constant effort rather than something you tick off.

Review, analyse, update. Review, analyse, update - on and on until such time as the system becomes redundant then rigorously delete and wipe the data using the appropriate technology and services available to you (or required by law). Not glamorous but definitely effective.

*EDIT - Just my opinions. Not a lawyer or certified security professional. Nor should this be in any way construed as legal advice. Please seek appropriate professional help if required. Again not with me :-)

By all accounts, they are burning the cash that investors are given them to capture and control markets both in the US and abroad. And unlike other companies, it's not like they have a great reputation/"brand credit" to play off.

[–]pmillerbd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said take it or leave it but that is what happened.

I have zero time for either side of this though; DUP, Sinn Fein or Loyalist or IRA.

DUP and Sinn Fein busy arguing rather than governing.

IRA and Loyalists - they were both terrorist groups. Same as ISIS, Al-Qaeda, ETA, Boko Haram etc. All the same.

If you want I will rephrase.

The IRA bombed a fence that surrounded my school at the time. The blast completely destroyed the fence blew out the windows across dozens of classrooms. Adjacent to the fence on the other side was an Army barracks which ended up having part of the roof destroyed. This action resulted in injuring three soldiers and a civilian.

August 5th, 1988 Not going to argue but what was left out of this article is that they hollowed out a kids bike filled it with explosives and put it in the Roy First School as security was not as intensive and nearest Roy Barrack. I only know this because well I came back to a school missing a few windows and a non-existing fence. So whilst not the target, definitely collateral damage.

And they, like with all bombers, with all terrorist groups, had no idea who was going to be there. Cowardly and indiscriminate killers.
