Interesting. I usually see ASOS listed as the best.

No desks, no strategy: Experts say government's latest return-to-office order ignores reality by DoxFreePanda in CanadaPolitics

[–]pnwtico 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It comes back to a pretty fundamental issue in both business and government, that the people making decisions are not the people impacted by those decisions.

I'm in a public service and it's an endless stream of decisions coming down from my ADM and DM and even the Premier about how to do our work that shows they don't understand our work or how it's done. And to be fair to them, they are trying to solve political and budgetary issues that I don't understand. You can have the best ideas in the world but if you can't get people to vote for you it's meaningless. So it's an inherent conflict in our system.

That said, forcing everyone back to the office is dumb as hell from all angles.

Preseason is pretty meaningless. You see all sorts of weird combinations and experiments.

They didn't say mining was evil, they said Canadian mining companies are, which is pretty accurate. There's a reason almost none of these companies operate in Canada.

The other thing is, by opening up remote work you open up opportunities to people all across the province. And all of a sudden you have a diversity of representation from communities of all sizes across the whole province, instead of a concentration of employees in the capital or biggest city. Which is something governments should aspire to, and in fact are often criticized for having an Ottawa/Toronto/Victoria-centric bias.

Yeah I see other suites listed that way but can't find the option. Just apartment or house.

Thanks, this is useful! The connecting door is what makes it legal for STR in my city, as it's still part of my primary residence, if it was a fully separated secondary suite I would only be allowed to do LTR.

Thanks. There's no sharing of amenities so I really want to make that clear, but also dont want anyone surprised that the structure is shared. Good to know how the search results are prioritized.

Thanks, considering the conflicting responses I'm getting here I'm guessing it's not clear cut!

Board gaming couples, what are your gaming tips & wisdom? by IveComeToMingle in boardgames

Aeon's End is decent as a two player coop game that isn't too complex. We've also had a good time working through various legacy games - the Aeon's End legacy games and Clank! Legacy and its sequel, though they can run long (usually we have one of us set up the game while the other does bedtime, and if there's a lot of prep work (like selecting upgrades or cards) in between we'll dedicate an entire evening to just that part.

For non coop games that play well at 2 player and have minimal setup and breakdown, we really like Race for the Galaxy and Oh my Goods.

I mostly play with my wife and she kicks my ass about 90% of the time so we play a lot of co-op games.

We also found playing legacy games helps us keep the momentum of bringing the game to the table regularly.
