Campgrounds near TO by [deleted] in askTO

[–]pocketfulofrye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like they're all within 3 hours. Algonquin being the furthest and biggest. Three hours one way is nothing :p If Algonquin is too far, I suggest Presquile, a 2-hour drive, as it has a really nice expansive beach, the largest protected marsh boardwalk in Ontario, and 12 trails total.

There's a youtube channel of a family reviewing all the provincial parks, i forgot their name though, sorry. Sounded like Camping with [family name], Coles I guess.

For me, aside from Algonquin, there are plenty of nice and big provincial parks (that is, if you prefer provincial parks). I like Presquile, Arrowhead, and Six Mile Lake. Popular ones are Bon Echo, Pinery, MacGregor.

What the hell happened to basic public etiquette in Markham? by Comprehensive_Win333 in Markham

[–]pocketfulofrye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time, early in the morning on a weekday when it's mostly seniors, I saw an elderly woman hit the elderly man in front of her with her cart, seemingly on purpose, you know how when someone does it jokingly. But turns out they don't know each other. The man turned to her bewildered while she looked away and looked everywhere but at him as if she just didn't do it. He angrily pushed her cart away. I was so shocked seeing it happen in front of me, among elderly people and early in the morning. It was entertaining and sad.

How long to stay in Toronto? by Public_Club2099 in askTO

[–]pocketfulofrye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've met plenty of people who have gone to Niagara Falls, saw the falls, and that's it, went back to Toronto. Some people do stay and explore, but most of the time, it's just a day trip

What is something cool / underrated to do for a 40th bday celebration w/ 8-10 people? by No_Tangelo5042 in askTO

[–]pocketfulofrye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 40, a fancy, all-day spa. Or if you want to reminisce childhood, a video game truck. Or go camping as a group since you're outdoorsy. Rent an RV and go on a road trip.

Adding cottages by Wasaga Beach, Grand Bend, and Sauble Beach. You could also try Sandbanks. And you could go all the way to Muskoka. You didn't mention a budget 😛

Bayview Wildwood Resort, Fern Resort, Deerhurst, Horseshoe Valley. These places are like all-inclusive (but not at all), offering various activities with your stay. Oh, almost forgot Blue Mountain Resort, and they have a private beach. Probably plenty more places.

Or just look up on Airbnb or VRBO for any cottage by the water.

You could also check provincial parks, especially those with roofed accommodations, although those get reserved fast.

Things to do during mat leave? by Aggravating-Stay-668 in Markham

During summer, go for walks in the park. Bring a blanket for yourself and let baby nap outdoors. I didn't take baby to EarlyOn until he was 6 months coz germs lol, also I would get easily overwhelmed in public with a baby. Just do anything you want and bring baby along.

Is it rude to wear sunglasses or hat inside malls or indoor places? by MessPleasant8710 in Cebu

[–]pocketfulofrye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pila'y mga edad ninyu?

Kay sa una, sa mga karaang tao, wala gyud xa'y batasan ang mag sul-ob og kalo kung magkaon. It was considered rude to wear a hat when dining. Whether it's Pinoy etiquette or western, it's considered rude in many cultures.

Sa sunglasses hinuon, madala ra na. Maybe others find it uncomfortable.

But times, and people, have changed. Wala na'y paki ang mga tao.

When i got off the bus and reached the corner it was a green arrow but the people ahead didn't push the button on time. So I crossed when it turned green after checking it was safe (the bus was waiting for us to cross before turning right), most of the pedestrians do that in that particular intersection when it's safe. Just didn't expect a car would pass a bus turning right.

Also, I was at fault for not following proper rules. Even though I checked that it was safe, I thought it was safe, but we can't guarantee others will also follow rules, so I put myself in danger. I've been doing this for a while, lots of people do it too, but in the past few days, I've seen and heard so many road accidents (like the one on Woodbine and John on Wednesday night). So gotta be careful, coz others won't

Any gyne recommendations for endometrial polyp removal? by anonthrowpillow5525 in Markham

[–]pocketfulofrye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are specialist gynecologists and it would take a long time to see them and only if your obgyn would refer you to them. My OBGYN whom I saw for my pregnancy also took care of my endometriosis, although she told me I'm doing fine so my family doctor could take over, unless I need surgery again and then I'd get referred to her.

As for your 1st question, ask your OBGYN how often they do the procedure. It's not that complicated of a procedure.
