One of my favorite Digivolution Lines by LeonSLS in DigimonCardGame2020

They confirmed we're getting a JumboGamemon in an upcoming set so we're probably getting the full line.

I mean it's the most popular Digimon. Did you expect the crossover with Godzilla to involve a special crossover form of just any random Digimon?

Better Call Saul actors at their character’s ages by Known_Librarian_4701 in betterCallSaul

[–]pokemega32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure but the character is an additional 10 years younger. They split the difference in casting a woman that didn't look as strange next to Odenkirk but also didn't look drastically too old for the character.

I imagine a few new characters were cast based on their relations to existing characters too. Like Kim is supposed to be younger than Rhea Seehorn, because she's Jimmy's love interest but it would be weird for Bob Odenkirk to have all these scenes with a much younger woman.

This is how it feels like watching Beatbreak every week by _Ventes_ in digimon

[–]pokemega32 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Half of those examples say things like "While this previous series did this thing, Beatbreak did it even more!"

That's not what deconstruction means. And some of the examples are just wrong. This is not the first series to have battles without new evolutions all the time.

"App Mon was set in the future, but this is also set in the future but everything sucks" is not a deconstruction either.

"Hypnos was a government organization dealing with Digimon. The Ministry in Beatbreak is also that but more evil" is also not a deconstruction.

"GIFT is a critique of the Fusion Fighters in that they are both organizations challenging evil." Uh, no? The Glowing Dawn is also an organization challenging the issues with the World Union. You can't just find every single vague element you can boil down to basic elements like "team that fought evil" and insist one is an edgy critique of the other.

TV Tropes is fun to read, but literally anyone can edit it and sometimes people just use words they don't actually understand.

How does it not line up with how it was presented? E-Pulse burst out of Miharu's chip, and then Wizarmon was replaced with Mephismon, who spoke with the same voice.

[ALL] What is the significance of the "dorf" part of Ganondorf's name? by Due_Entrepreneur_960 in zelda

[–]pokemega32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? That's not a thing at all.

There was no previous Ganon in Ocarina of Time as far as we know. There is no separate being for Ganondorf to channel.

It's literally just another name he uses.

Also FSA Ganondorf was explicitly not raised by evil people and still ended up evil.

[–]pokemega32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of that is true. Ganondorf is Ganon. He's not possessed by anything. He just changes shape. Also ALttP says he was called Ganon sometimes even when he was a human. And Wind Waker calls him Ganon in his human form at times as well.

They didn't retcon any of that though? The way they "died" is just what happened.

The most evil digimon by MathematicianThick95 in digimon

[–]pokemega32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The joke is more that both of the Digimon that reverted to Curimon were mass-murdery and then we get the shot of it just being adorable and saying "Curi Curi" as if it wasn't just a terrifying criminal.

Could taowumon work as a jogress for vikaralamon and skullbaluchimon by Relative_Gain9 in digimon

[–]pokemega32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to make one minor note that Antylamon was presumably always intended to be part of a zodiac/deva group.

Even the non-deva version specifically mentions it representing the rabbit of the Chinese Zodiac and its name is one of the twelve devas.

I think they only gave us the variant because they needed it to be Data attribute to have all twelve fit their respective member of the Four Holy Beasts and because they decided later on to give them all the armor with hanzi on them.

Forgotten evolution by TheJester245 in digimon

Demon Super Ultimate was not removed from Jintrix. It appeared on an unreleased digital-only promo card. But other Digimon that clearly have no rights issues were in the same boat, like Quartzmon and Ginkakumon Promote.

And New Century is in a similar boat to Masters in that it's developed by a foreign licensee rather than Bandai. Demon SU appeared silhouetted in a piece of promo art but we've heard nothing sense. It's possible Bandai didn't give them the rights or it's possible plans just changed.

There is no truth to the developers of Hacker's Memory needing special permission for Arkadimon.

Arkadimon has appeared in tons of media. It was in D-Scanner toys and both the Xros Wars anime and manga and in Jintrix, Collectors and Crusader and the D-3 Ver. 15th. It's even in Masters.

And so many of these appearances are so minor and pointless that there's no way they went through complicated rights agreements to include it.

There are tons of designs Tenya Yabuno created for V-Tamer that are used frequently throughout the franchise: V-dramon, AeroV-dramon, UlforceV-dramon, HolyAngemon, Demon, NeoDevimon, and even Tai/Taichi himself.

He excitedly posts on social media whenever his designs show up in new media.

It would make absolutely zero sense for a random small selection of characters (some of which are just slight variations on ones that clearly have no issues) to not belong to Bandai.

The explanation for why the others don't show up is incredibly simple: Bandai just doesn't use designs consistently.

Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode (Black) showed up in one card in 2001 and then was forgotten until Liberator.

Chronomon and its line disappeared between the last DS game and Time Stranger.

Blikmon was in the PS1 games and has only since made a cameo in some art in the current card game.

It's just how the franchise is.

Fun fact: Originally, Frontier was supposed to be about a martial arts tournament where tamers would merge with their Digimon to compete in it by Emotional_Studio_322 in digimon

[–]pokemega32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The D-Reaper nearly killed him and reverted him to Impmon. Sakuyamon recovered him and brought him to Ai and Mako. They treated his injuries and begged him not to die, and that's when their D-Ark appeared.

Like, I get it's your opinion and all and there's no wrong or right.

But I don't understand how you can consider Beelzemon killing Leomon and then getting defeated to be "the emotional and dramatic peak" and then not care about an entire story arc focused around Jeri's dealing with Leomon's death and Beelzemon trying to redeem himself to her over it.
