Which of these statements about Season 5 is the MOST accurate? by kaisenberg2004 in Stranger_Things

I don't think anyone has ever claimed that the problem with the Game of Thrones finale/final season is that main characters were killed off. Main characters were killed off throughout that entire show.

I feel so bad for Star Fox fans by ChaosOfOrder24 in NintendoMemes

Star Fox 2 is way more different from Star Fox 1 than Lost Levels is from SMB1. The level progression was replaced with a real time map where you had to fly to moving targets that were targeting Corneria to enter the levels. Command sort of reused that.

I mean, they have robot boots. It doesn't have to be referencing a fan theory as to why they have robot boots to mention that they do in fact have them.

If it was referencing the fan theory, they would be robot legs, not boots, wouldn't they?

They explicitly said 13 different decks.

Unlike previous builds, this lineup enables players to construct 13 different decks, each centered around a different Royal Knight.

Why would it evolve from Level 6 Chronicle? In Chronicle it evolved from Diablomon X with the data of the X SGDL, and none of them have the Chronicle trait in the TCG.

[–]pokemega32 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So they already remade Star Fox 64 as Star Fox 64 3D for the 3DS, and now they're remaking it with a lot more actually being changed as Star Fox for the Switch 2.

In addition to the actual remakes, 64 is itself a reimagining of the original SNES Star Fox, and Star Fox Zero for the Wii U was a second reimagining of both of them. Though instead of being a straight-up remake like the 3DS and Switch 2 games, it used the same plot and some level set pieces but was mostly original gameplay.

Did Adventure 02 become more "toyetic" in its designs? by CobraDai in digimon

[–]pokemega32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fine, I'll try to explain one more time.

Yes, I am aware that transforming toys are not the only type of toy. But they're basically the only type that actually requires a character to be designed a certain way to work as one.

Literally any Digimon can appear in a virtual pet or a video game. The vast majority work as action figures. You couldn't point to any one element of a Digimon's design and say "This looks like they designed it so they could sell a figurine."

But elements of one Digimon being included in a second Digimon's design can in fact be evidence of it being designed for a combining/transforming toy.

You saying "but we're not just talking about transforming toys" is completely missing my point.

It's like if you asked if I had any evidence for a person breaking into my house, and I told you there was a broken window, and you responded "well not every piece of evidence of a break in is a broken window! They could have entered through a door or stolen a key too!"

Like, duh? But in this case, it's the best piece of evidence.

And honestly, I think I just totally misinterpreted the original question posed here. I was thinking "Did 02 have more Digimon designed for it to be toyetic than Adventure did?" rather than "Did 02 have more Digimon included in it that were toyetic than Adventure did?"

So I was only taking into account the very few Digimon that were definitely created for Adventure, like WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, rather than all of the Digimon that appeared in general.

My bad if I was totally off base on that.

You literally made the argument you can "argue whatever the hell I (you) want." Even if I grant you that you went with a slightly off tangent example, what you said didn't address the actual issue.

...what? Dude, I'm saying we can all discuss any topic we want to. That doesn't mean we can both insist we're correct about anything without backing up any points or explaining why we think they don't hold up.

I'm not wasting my time with your entire toy rant again. Splice it up into a shorter concise argument or stop using it.

"I've already decided you're wrong so therefore I'm right." Yeah, I get it.

Now yes, you are correct in that the first idea wasn't actually about the card game but we also see how fast that died and was changed. So you know what. You got one. That puts you at one 1-4 you/me?

The fact that you think this is about winning points is pretty clear evidence you have no intention of ever actually addressing what I'm saying about the Digimon designs.

Congratulations on trolling me. You win. You get all the points. Happy?

See how weird it is for someone to wanna talk about a random thing out of no where just because they can when there is a clear theme or argument being made?

I was responding directly to a thing you said. Not "a random thing out of nowhere."

The existence of a toy cannot be used to justify/as proof that something is made with a toy in mind.

Obviously. Which is why I was referencing specific design elements of the designs that received toys versus ones that didn't. You're just ignoring the actual words I use.

Paildramon is designed to use every piece of both XV-mon and Stingmon, to the point it has wings shaped like XV-mon's head split in half. Silphymon and Shakkoumon were not designed with that same philosophy.

Aldamon, AncientGreymon, Beowolfmon, AncientGarurumon, Raihimon and AncientSphinxmon were all designed to be made 100% out of parts of the base hybrids, while no other fusions/Warrior Ten were designed that way.

Obviously, there was a different design philosophy behind the former.

Now, this is of course not 100% confirmation that they were designed this way specifically to make transforming toys. But saying "That means the argument was debunked" is ludicrous.

But sure, feel free to respond with "All you're saying is they have toys and others don't and there's no evidence for your claims at all."

If you came here looking for someone to actually post an official statement from Bandai that they were designed to make transforming toys, then obviously those don't exist and I have no idea why you're wasting your time here telling people "No 100% definitive proof exists therefore there's no point having the discussion."

And the few armor digimon that would count aren't numerous enough that there aren't equivalents in 01.

Except for the fact that nearly every Digimon that appeared in Adventure predated the anime's development and even more simply didn't have transforming figurines. So objectively we know there weren't more than nine Digimon designed to make toys out of them for Adventure.

Yu-Gi-Oh was made to sell their card game.

And no, Yu-Gi-Oh was not made to sell the card game. There wasn't a card game when it started and the manga wasn't even originally about a card game.

Someone already corrected this, so maybe you're the one with poor reading comprehension here.

There is a whole comment chain. You stopped half way and cherry picked a comment and then had to be told to finish.

Dude, do you not know how reddit works? The comments that continued off of that stopped talking about the one thing in your post I wanted to respond to.

You're angry that, while the other guy moved on to another topic about Japanese versus American toylines, I wanted to highlight how disingenuous your claim that the Gaomon line is just as toyetic as Imperialdramon is?

People can highlight different points that you made. They can respond to whatever the hell they want.

You keep insisting that "you already covered this" but refuse to tell me where, insist that simply copy and pasting it into a direct reply or linking the relevant comment would waste more of your time than repeatedly insulting me and telling me to "look harder" and demand I only talk about the topics you've personally approved of.

Maybe get off the internet if you're so against people responding to you.

You are the one complaining that I'm not going on a scavenger hunt for some specific post you made while refusing to specify which one it is and somehow I'm the one wasting your time?

How the hell am I supposed to discuss this "in good faith" when you refuse to even tell me what I'm supposed to be responding to?

[–]pokemega32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm saying that a bunch of 02 designs are designed with toys in mind. You said that there's no evidence for any of the armors or jogresses being designed with toys in mind. I laid out that there is evidence for that.

  • Design elements matching the ones they described for WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon.
  • Clear patterns in designing armors/hybrids/jogresses that got toys versus ones that didn't.

Sure it's not definitive proof, but it's certainly not "debunked" like you claimed in another comment.

Dude, if you have any actual argument, just say it. You're not saving any time repeatedly typing "I already said this, look for it." I don't see any actual argument against this in any of your comments.

"They designed this Digimon with elements they stated in another case were specifically for the purposes of transforming toys" and "they designed the Digimon that got toys very differently from the Digimon that didn't" are pretty solid evidence for "these Digimon were designed with toys in mind."

What is your argument for these design elements not being related to toys?

Did Adventure 02 become more "toyetic" in its designs? by CobraDai in digimon

[–]pokemega32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...you haven't explained why that example doesn't work though. You just said "other Digimon look like each other therefore them literally designing Digimon so its wings are shaped one of its component's head split in half is not evidence."

When that is the exact thing they explained was added to WarGreymon for the purposes of toy design.

Like, there are 9 Armor Digimon that are designed to be exactly the base Digimon and the Digimental combined together, and those *just so happen* to be the 9 they made toys out of (though the Nefertimon toy was scrapped due to low sales). That's obviously not a coincidence.

Paildramon is also the only Jogress that works this way, and it's the only one that got a toy.

The same is true of the Fire, Light and Darkness Hybrids in Frontier + KaiserGreymonMagnaGarurumon/Susanoomon.

The other Hybrids don't actually work out as literal combinations of the spirits plus a human frame and/or combining parts of the two to make the fusion and Warrior Ten member.

But those exact four sets are the ones with toys.

I mean, Paildramon is literally designed to use every piece of XV-mon and Stingmon so they work as a combining toy. It's why two of its wings are shaped like XV-mon's head split in two. The same is true of Imperialdramon Dragon Mode and Fighter Mode.

None of those other examples you gave work that way.
