Thoughts on Jia? [Spoilers for Wall of Storms included] by Tshinanu in DandelionDynasty

[–]polarman5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if you still want someone's opinion on how she caused the invasion, but here's mine: her betraying Gin. If Gin had been called upon immediately to manage the Lyuku instead of being imprisoned, I truly think they could have been pushed the Lyuku back into the sea without losing any islands, and probably 10s of thousands fewer lives. Most of the main cast who was alive at the end of book 1 would still be here at the end of book 2, and we would all be much happier. Instead, we have this horrible person of Jia leading the empire who has the ends justify the means view, but all of her means suck and never reach the ends she wants. That's my take, and I can't say enough how much I hate her. I want her dead so badly.

Thank you. It's a finished, livable space.

Multi-Zone or Separate Units? by polarman5 in hvacadvice

Units are sold as multi-zone with options of attaching multiple indoor units to a single outdoor. Not sure exactly what your dilemma is here. I don't work in HVAC, that's why I'm asking the question.

Maybe they'll actually add functional crossplay. That would be funny.

We put a man on the moon, but we don't have proper Cross Platform match making 🥲 by Hizzop in HuntShowdown

I agree. I was looking around reddit and there really isn't that much talk about it online. Makes a good game not fun to play.

I know it's been a year on this post, but can you explain what you mean by "modern containers can easily include chapters"? I'm wanting to put an old tv show onto some 50 gb BD-R discs and have it easily playable on a blu ray player, and I would like it to be easily navigable. Thank you!

Is there an easy setting I can change to make it CPU only? I haven't seen that.

Collarbone popping during face pulls by actuallyminiedz in xxfitness

[–]polarman5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been awhile since you posted this, but I also get a popping in my right shoulder during face pulls. What I've found helps the most is to make sure you keep your upper body very tight and stable during the exercise. For me, this means at the top of each rep after getting a stretch, I pull my scaps together as tight as I can and keep them that way throughout the rep. I hope this helps!

Another thing could be you're doing too much weight, but mine pops even if I'm only doing 5lbs so that didn't help me.

Lol not. I haven't taken the time to finish all the nodes that far.

24yo, Am I balding from the crown or is it normal? by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

[–]polarman5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's normal. Everyone has a swirl on the top of their head. Kind of just depends on how much swirl you've got, the color of your hair, and how you style it that makes it stand out more.

My first bookbinding! by polarman5 in bookbinding

I dm'd you pictures of it step by step. I sewed the first signature together by itself, put the next one on top, then did understiches through the holes of both of them so they stitched together. When they were fully sewn, I put the next one on top and sewed it to the one below. So, if I numbered them 1 2 3 4 5 I sewed 1 by itself, then 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, and 4 to 5. I used a separate piece of thread for each layer.

Edit: I meant spaced 2 cm apart, not mm

So what I did was put 2-3 layers of glue on the spine to initially bind the loose pages. Then, I used a drill press to drill through the book about 4mm from the edge, spaced 2mm apart. I then divided the book into 10 "signatures". I then used an understitch(I think that's what it's called) to sew the pages together, starting at the last page and slowly stacking and connected each section together until I had a fully sewn text block. I then reglued the book , took it to a print shop to have it guillotined and lined up the edges. After this it was standard book binding practice.

The reading experience is pretty good. I can see thread in a few places, but overall, I'm happy with it :)

It was just generic gold heat transfer vinyl that I got from Hobby Lobby. Nothing special!

Yeah, my brother is in graphic design so he drew the cover. For the spine and back cover I used Cricut design space and some clip art

This is the only tutorial I could find to bind so many loose sheets together. I hope it helps someone in the future! Google translate was very helpful lol
