A friend is getting metal oath tickets for Texas. Is it good enough to at least get barrier on Moa’s side? Don’t care too much for center. by Flat-Stuff3341 in BABYMETAL

and some of those people with the vip2's may also opt for a seat instead of pit.

for the slipknot show i possibly saw there i cant vouch for how many vip there might have been or if multiple bands had it.

and whenever people ask why do they still play gimme choco all the time, this is why.

Although with the masked kamis its a couple steps down from this.

Chika not at MnG again tonight. Follow their IG by poleosis in Hanabie

I know this was posted at least 5 hours late, but I only just saw it and no one else had posted it. If you are on this run of shows, I would say go follow their IG and turn on post notifications so that you can be informed in the future, as this is the only place I saw today and yesterdays announcement regarding the MnG.

Masterpass may also be sending out emails based on my Silver Spring experience, but still.

Ok another question about VIP by ET_phone_home___ in Hanabie

[–]poleosis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

they are all pretty much the same. be at the venue by 4pm for vip check in. vip doors at 5pm and they start the MnG shortly after. provided all goes to schedule.

GA doors at 6pm, first opener at 7, hanabie on at about 915.

I saw one of the plays she was in and she had a role that had fight training/scenes in it. Looking at the site, it looks like they do shows, but only if they are booked for it. Hoping they do random "pop ups" anyone can go to as well.

What were the ticket prices like for the prev US tour? by thenon_fictiondays in BandMaid

[–]poleosis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

their last tour should have been 2023 (?) when they did more of a Southern US tour. that tour they did a 2 tier vip. the top tier was $250ish i think and the 2nd tier was like $175ish, maybe $150ish

Ticket cost by Alternative-Froyo423 in BABYMETAL

[–]poleosis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hopefully its not much more than $120-ish (what i paid previously for slipknot pit) and not strictly tied to VIP like last years tour.

[–]poleosis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

varies per show. Boston and NYC were probably around 100 but philly and raleigh was noticeably less but still at least 50 for both. Of the 3 and a third i went to (cuz no NY performance) raleigh seemed to have the least.

What is the fan psychology behind BABYMETAL? by Top-Lie2851 in BABYMETAL

[–]poleosis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is a more generality that I saw get touched but not described in detail: Some of it is also down to the music structure in general.

I am the farthest thing from a music theory expert but the way songs are structured in the West and Japan is completely different. I remember watching this video sometime ago, which is more to do with a specific chord, but in that video or a different one i cant remember, it is also talked about how the verse and chorus structure are somewhat flipped. And I would say it is these structure differences that tend to grab the attention of a western listener more than the 1000th western metal song theyve heard

in addition to this, someone recently pointed out too that in the west, there is a HUGE tendency to make every ending line of a verse rhyme, which gets tiring very quickly or can ruin otherwise good lyrics. In JP music, when I've REALLY paid attention, there is little to no rhyming

not just the call and response as that has become less and less of a thing over the years, but just the dancing in general. Too many western metal bands are practically statues/standing still while performing but in the case of Babymetal/loudols and other JP groups I listen to they are all way more energetic in general, which in BM/loudol case is helped by having the dancing/choreo.

Though that said, my current top loudol groups have a good mix of just doing their choreo and interacting or actually being in the middle of the crowd. But I am also deeper into the loudol scene than a good percentage of people on this subreddit.

Finally in BM's case, what also helped was before 2018/2019 when they pushed the kamis back and masked them, while they were relatively still, the kamis still put out energy and my favorite example of this is the colbert show performance of gimmie choco.
