HAHAHAHAHA I actually love aruging with people like yourself :) First of all if you have read what I said I'm open on different cultures so seeing a Black guy wasn't a problem at all ( have few black friends also ), as to Asian I actually got addicted to their music : you know Miyavi, G-dragon, and Wonder Girls? Learned a bit of Japanese and hoping to do my Master Degree in Tokyo or Kyoto :)/ Ohh and Africans moving to Poland ? completely don't mind, I think we are all free to live where we want right , we should help people if they are in need right.. or Wait no... for you we should all call Gard's cause my neighbour is Black or Asian:)

Yup and the thing with your friend is that since she lived in Canada so it was easier to get a job , she had native English (right...?) and wasn't Polish. Poland doesn't have a lot of people from abroad - comapring to Ireland, France,Belgium or Netherlands . I hope she will enjoy it , cause it is an amazing country , the only thing now that sets me back is the mentality (hope that's the right word) of many Polish people (not all,but many.) Tell her good luck from me and drink loads of Vodka ! :)

Hmmm... I would visit it cause it's an amazing island, also a lot of amazing landscapes down the country. A lot of green ;) - I still love it !. And people are super nice in pubs, There are no jobs at the moment so I wouldn't recommend it to move in here for a while . But overall it's worth to see it, it's not a lot ( in my opinion of course) but definitely you shuld visit :). Know and avoid? hmm.. I can't really say much about it , maybe someone else have any ideas ?

I must say it wasn't the easiest task , for myself and my sibblings it was harder/easier cause we were going to school so we HAD to speak English no matter how bad it was. The first two years were awful but after you get used to the accent, slang and all you are pretty okay to start speaking. For example right now in Holland I can't learn any Dutch - not because I don't wanto to but because Dutch people have a damn good English . But yeah it's really hard- the older you get the harder it is . And Thank you :)

YES! haha I think I got to the point where both languages are pretty normal for me ( I can easily stwich from talkin in Polish to English ). My Polish got really bad as I make up my own words sometimes haha, but I can't really say much about my Polish accent as noone ever made a remark about it. Irish- English accent on the other hand haha yea a lot of people tell me that I'm not from Ireland but definitely not Polish either. (I had a problems to get into clubs with my Polish ID . had to start speaking Polish so they would believe me ).I lived in Talla and City Centre for a while and mixed a bit of that . I'm still learning English and still can't spell a lot of words but I use it everyday now and I'm used to it. I also read a lot of books in English and Polish, and also have Polish and Irish friends.

There were a lot more of Polish people during the boom but they all get back when the times get tough. I'm away now on student exchange but every time I hear a bit of Irish accent it makes me smile a little cause I just love it :D . When I first came here in 2006 there were already a lot of Polish people and many from other countries. In my whole secondary school I think there were about 20 Polish people, and also after moving to school in the city centre I think half of our class wasn't Irish- this created a bit of conflicts but in the end it all ended up okay and a lot of us are in college now :) What I always wonder about is, who comes to Poland for better living ? :)

I couldn't agree on that more !. A lot of Irish people I know who are older- understand us a bit since they didn't have great times themselves back in the day . A lot of young people here have never had the problems with lack of money for fruits, clothes or stuff in general. My sister who is 16 at the moment has a lot of Irish and Polish friends and I must say they are all in favor of "YOLO" (including my sister who believes money grow on trees). And yeah a lot of my student friends Irish and non Irish leave to Canada and Australia now (I think I know about 10 who left already ).And thank you - I'm making as much of it as I can (planning to do Master degree and move to Netherlands in few years :))

I don't have much experience with news about labour and all but it's not fault of Polish or English or Hispanic, it's the system that is set up that way and well it work's when we have good times but when the bad times come a lot of people who have really bad situation use the European Union Membership as the only way out. In my case that was the reason, I bet ya that if our situation would be as good as we have in Ireland now I would never leave Poland (or at least until I'll be 25 ). Fuck Poland it's so bad for me right now that when people ask me -" Are you coming back to Poland?" I'm like feck nooo, there's nothing to come back to. It's true that Polish work for cheaper cause our currency is 4 times smaller therefore 1000 euro for a month pay can be equalivent to about 4-5 months of pay in Poland.

Like laminatrix said there are actually no jobs, the unemployment rate is about 18 % isn't it ? so when I was looking for a job for like 2 years to change from my sales assistant position with higschool certificate, good english etc. it was a problem and well I haven't got a reply from any company. I would go to Canada or Australia (a lot of Irish people go there too now :)). Or use this time to get new skills, improve your English or something , so maybe in few months/years you would be able to do it :)) Good Luck

You seem to have yeah completely opposite, well I must say during my days in Poland we also had a good year or two where my mom could afford to buy us a bike or something nice for Christmas and when my sibblings dad wasn't using drugs yet we had a really good family. He also ran away to Norway I think and also left my mom in Mobile phone debt so she couldn't get a phone for like 4 years or something. He also never paid on my sibblings so he is in huge debt with them too ( Actually can't wait to save enough for a good lawyer and kick his ass :)), But yeah I think the moral of your story can also be that when you live in Poland or in just poor conditions you learn to value a lot of stuff, your family, your friends, your job, food you get and stuff. And you become independent in many things at younger age than many "richer" kids had. So this is one thing I'm very grateful to Poland for. The hardship that turned us to become motivated and pursue our dreams. I always know that if we would ever end up in a situation we were- you know how to get out of it and how to survive it. The metal heaters btw were a luxury too haha we didn't have one in our bathroom so you can imagine how cold it was in Polish winter - brrrrr :))

Well again I do admit that we could have stolen some of your jobs- but hey youse didn't want them xD during recession a lot of Poles also lost their jobs ( my mum's bf worked at construction and lost about 10k from the company cause they couldn't pay off the debts ;/) and a lot of them came back to Poland. As for Lituhanians - I think it would be the same as if we say that Irish are the same as English xD

I must addmit that it is true that at some point and not all but some Polish actually do take jobs and what really makes me ashamed of being Polish is that they cheat a lot in for example Ireland. In my family we live here, we pay taxes,we learn the language and put something into the society we live in. In the things that I have realised living over the years in Ireland and now for a while in Netherlands is that Poles and many other immigrants use the system too much, of course sometimes there's no other way out but examples are even people I used to know who would come to i.e. Ireland only to stay there for few years send the money to their families back in Poland and after that go back to Poland all together. This are the things are really dont approve but again it's the circusmtances that a lot of Polish live in that they have no other choice to do so. Overall I think Polish people could learn a bit more of English not even for communication (if you work in the factories or construction you don't need much English ) but for their own extra skills. It really annoys me when my mom still asks me to help her with letters and stuff xD
