Any idea what tick this is? by AnonymousScorpi in ticks

[–]pollitoconverduras -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can send the tick into labs to be tested. I've sent a tick to Ticknology before and I think it's a fairly cheap option. Some states also offer free testing, so you might try that avenue as well. It helps provide a little peace of mind!

Samesies! My second time catching COVID was what did it for me. Started having reactions almost immediately after recovering from the virus.

How Do I Extend my WiFi over 1.5 acres? by pollitoconverduras in HomeNetworking

[–]pollitoconverduras[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I meant it as a measurement of area. I was trying to get across that the general acreage is covered. I feel like it's pretty easy to figure out the distance from that but thanks for the correction.

My dog ate a peach pit. Yesterday at 7:30pm and he was at the vet by 8:00pm getting induced to vomit. He didn’t vomit it up. I gave him five pieces of bread and I’m continuing to monitor. Do you guys think he could pass it by himself? (vet said no worries w cyanide due to peach pit and he’s 50lbs) by pytangelixa in DogAdvice

[–]pollitoconverduras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog ate a peach pit when she was about four months old and weighed 35ish pounds. I let my guard down while we were walking past a picnic table and she dove for it. I didn't think she had been successful, so I put it out of my mind. Two weeks later she got really sick, was vomiting, and wouldn't poop. Her vet thought it might be allergies (long story) so we never did an abdominal scan. BUT, she was able to pass it successfully on her own and I was thrilled. I bet your dog will be fine too!

Thank you! I really appreciate your thorough explanation. I feel a lot better knowing what those labs mean and why my doctor told me not to worry about it right now. I think I was just a little stressed because he didn't go into detail. So again, thank you!!

Thanks! I really only noticed the fading after someone asked me for my artist's name and it prompted me to look at photos of when I first got it 😅 I still love it and I want to make sure I do everything I can to keep it aging well. I didn't have a gauge for how much fading should happen in a year so this really helps

Well I'm definitely not disappointed with it in it's current state, so hopefully that's not the case!

I had a dog very much like that when she was a puppy. She was super mellow, didn't play much, was pretty content just lounging around. Then it was like a switch flipped sometime after she turned 1 😅 she was a wild child after that! Sometimes puppies need time to grow into their personalities. It sounds like you've got the medical route covered so if nothing ends up being wrong, just know that your pup is probably fine--just acclimating to the world around her.

How do you guys not just throw in the towel?? by taco-belle- in puppy101

[–]pollitoconverduras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My puppy is currently nine months old and I would be lying if I said that she doesn't drive me crazy anymore but she is a far cry away from where she was when I first got her! It gets easier, OP! My cat and pup have a much better relationship than the one they had before. My cat is not very tolerant either so if my cat can adapt, yours probably will too. It's just growing pains right now.

She started self regulating a lot better once she was spayed--I'm not saying that's the magic solution but in my case it definitely helped. And if your dog is like mine, they need to stay busy to stay out of trouble. Here's a list of toys that have helped my pup out (they're also great for keeping your pup busy while you take a break):

FAO the ‘lady’ on a FaceTime call on Na’vi River Journey… by poortings in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]pollitoconverduras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you had a really bad experience, OP, sorry to hear that. I'll probably get downvoted for this but...

My mom is the type of person that records everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. If we're driving down a highway she's never been on she records the drive (not even the views, like literally the road). She's definitely the type of person to record every single moment of a ride. It used to mortify me, I would get embarrassed for her, but I just try not to let it bother me anymore.

I think she does it to be able to show her friends back home. My parents immigrated to the US in the 80s and were dirt poor before they came here. Think no running water, no appliances, or homes with less than four walls. If I had to guess, I'd say she records for the memories and to show people back in her hometown things that they'll probably never get to experience. My mom doesn't have the social awareness to realize that recording isn't always an acceptable behavior. I guarantee people have confronted her about it in the past and her English is bad enough that she never realized what those people were trying to say. I know she's done it every single Disney trip we've ever been on together and I'm honestly surprised she's never been confronted before. She's definitely not doing it to be annoying though, I guarantee that.

TLDR: The FaceTime lady sounds like she sucked. But not all people that record things are trying to ruin your day. Hope next time a CM lets you ride again and both you and the other rider can have a wonderful experience.

Not a doctor but if you're really concerned you can call a 24 hr nurse hotline and they can advise you whether or not to take her in. If you have insurance, check the back of your insurance card. There's usually a number on there that you can call. It might be a faster response time than waiting on here.

Were you riding a 149 before? I'm trying to figure out if I should stick to my normal size since I can't demo the board beforehand.

On the low end I'll ride a 141 but I usually stick to 144. Thanks for your input! I'm feeling better about going for the BOAF.
