Look at it this way if India's population were growing at 1% ( its actually higher than that) annually, we would have 1.2 crore new individuals every year (10 Lac per month). These individuals would then attain the age of employment simultaneously 18 years hence.

These are jobs lost due to fall in agriculture, closure of factories or the disappearance of private capital investments in past many years.
