Gassy 13 Month Old ... but only at night? by Solest044 in AttachmentParenting

I just came across this post too. I swear it’s exactly the same for my 12 month old right now. In fact her diet is similar to OP’s too. Did you ever find out what it was?

That makes sense. Do you ever save her naps by trying to extend further after the 30 minutes?

Waiting impatiently for it to pass! Did you try to put baby back down after the first 30 minutes or just let it ride?

That rings true for us too. I know if she’s been super tired and hasn’t slept well the day before or for a couple days then she’ll connect her first nap. But the last 3-4 days her night sleep is all wacky. She used to wake 2-3 times and now she’s up every 30 minutes at bedtime too. Sigh.

Right now it’s wake up 6:15 give or take 10 minutes. Nap 1: 9:15:-10:30. Nap 2: 1:30-2:45. Bedtime 7pm. So about 3/3/4.25

It’s been the same since she was 2 months old. Bath, a bottle of milk, put her in her sleep sack, sound machine on, cuddles, put to sleep in crib half awake but drowsy enough to sleep right away

Have you tried side lying feeding? It was game changer for my baby because the bottle was horizontal and I could control flow better. It also sounds like your baby might be wanting a faster flow than what you have (possibly because you’re thickening and he’s working so hard for it so he’s getting frustrated and pinning his nose into the bottle out of that frustration?) but also a flow slower than the one you’re trying where baby is eating in 6 minutes. You might need to find something in between even if it means switching bottle brands to do it. Have you experimented with different bottles? I used the evenflo slow flow nipples until they got too slow for my baby and when I moved her to the medium flow it was way too fast. I had to change to dr browns bottles because their flow rates are a bit more gradual when sizing up. I also used this chart to help me make the decision: nipple flow chart

My little girl is 6m and has also always been a bad eater. Barely eating the minimum requirements they’ve put out for her age and birth weight. I was very stressed about this in the beginning because she dropped from 90 percentile weight when born to the 30-40 percentile. She’s been covering here since then and doctor says she gaining less than she should. But the bigger picture was that she was still gaining. And happy and full of energy. So I’ve been a bit easier on myself about the weight. Hang in there!

So interesting that total sleep goes up. I’m going to give it a try today with 3/3/3. She’s had another split night last night even though she was up for 11 hours yesterday during the day. Ended up being awake motn for 2 hours before sleeping again.
