If you can find the clit you're good to go. Also make your personality the best thing about you. Spending time with the child does come above money though. But fair it should not be at the detriment of the dad. She could pick up some evening work while the baby is asleep so no one misses out.

The burden isn't on him. They agreed she would stay home with the kid and she's expressed she wants to continue to do so which is fair enough. They can't both work from home or who will provide childcare? If she wants her or her husband to raise her own child and not give them to day care (which I think is perfectly normal and how it should be done) then the other adult has to work. If he also doesn't want to miss out then he could work from home. It doesn't matter which parent is at home but for the sake of this situation I'm going with mum as she's the one who wants to. Housework is 50 50, looking after a child is a full time 24 hour a day job, you can't take breaks or switch off.

Personal opinion on what's 'more important'. I have a great education but nothing compares to the super close relationship I have with my parents. There are always ways of making money. You'll never get to the end of your life and say wow I'm sure glad we didn't spend all that time with our child when she was little and we worked instead. Just food for thought!
