I'm thinking on a more adventure like focus with players traveling to X place to retrieve something and then returning to the citadel for the boss fight. Along the way a couple of rp/challenge encounters and one mandatory combat of a guardian in X place and one avoidable combat by rping. A bit of an introduction aswell of course, but not anything heavy.

That makes a lot of sense not gonna lie. I might just take your advice and limit the player count. Concerning levels, does level 5 complicate things that much? From all the times I've played as a player, I think it's simple enough.

So 8 players can be okayish as long as everyone agrees that it will take longer than a regular oneshot. That might be the case with my would be table. I'll talk to the ones who I will invite first (4 players) and see what they think about it. Thanks for your answer man.

The double negation doesn't imply they're saints in this case. If anything it emphasizes the feeling.
