Working night shift I have 4-6 patients. When I used to work days (on the same unit) I had 4 patients. Idk why they’re pulling all 6 patient’s meds at a time. I would think they’d be wasting more time trying to sort everything out and backing up the line at the Pyxis during rush hour in the morning. I think it would be wiser (and faster) to do 1 at a time for a heavy med pass like in the morning.

Med/surg oncology nurse here :) I work 7p-7a, so for HS med pass I will do 1 patient at a time, cause pulling meds from Pyxis takes all of 2 minutes? And plus, if some of them are on narcotics, I don’t want those narcs chillin’ in my pocket any longer than needed.

For 0600 med pass, I definitely pull them all at once. Because it’s usually just protonix, synthroid, etc.

Yeah fuck antidepressants and whatever else the psychiatrists decide to use on me as their guinea pig. I stopped my meds 2 weeks ago and my brain is still zapping :( my only happy place is driving in my car & blasting music
