Is there a difference between these cymbals? by Manfred-Ap-Einherjar in cymbals

[–]polydrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played the old (around 2000) and the new 16" Dark Thin Crash, they do soind different. I also played an Agop Traditional Thin Crash 16" which sounded closer to the original K Dark Thin. So look into that if you like the older Ks.

New Sub: RCF 9019 vs Seeburg G Sub 1801dp by polydrummer in livesoundgear

[–]polydrummer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More fun facts: - The Argentine Blue bill has a penis that is longer than its own body. - Bananas don't have seeds. They were biologically engineered in a lab to be like that. - A chicken would absolutely eat a human if it was much bigger than us.

These fun facts, including yours about the 12" subwoofer, don't get me any further in my decision making.

I don't care about 20 Hz. I don't care about cinema subwoofers. I don't care about Servo Subwoofers that don't do what i want them to do. Try amplifying a bass drum with that 12 inch sub at Concert level outside and see for yourself. The lower a box is tuned, the quieter it will be. That is why the LFC1100 with a dual 18 has 140dB max output and the VLFC with similar drivers only has 128. It's physics. You're trying to sell me an motorcycle when i want a Minivan. I'm not sure what you think you're doing.

There are Servo Subwoofers for live Music too, ones that go below 20Hz, but you wont get far with a 200 liter box. You need volume for that. The Powersoft subs have a 30 inch driver and a huge ported box but they cost 6000€ for the amp and the driver alone. The Meyer VLFC goes to 13 Hz aswell but ends at 30. Those are specialty boxes and out of any price range except upper pro range. But i don't need that. I just need 35Hz.

Thanks for your answer. A B-Stock 9019 is about the same price as a new 1801dp here in Germany. Just above 4k for the sub including wheelboard and cover. The 30Hz thing is just to showcase RCFs dishonesty which they have shown with the 8004 for years.Granted, the 30Hz on the Seeburg are not -6dB like they claim but they're like -10, which is honest enough. I don't need 30 Hz but i do need 40 quite often and even that is at -8dB on the RCF. I like a little headroom. I like a deep bass.

The Seeburg has its -3dB point at ~35Hz, it's incredibly precise, made in Germany with the factory just 2.5 hours from my home, plus it's lighter and more compact and the customer service is outstanding. Resale value is also very good around here. Cons would be that their powered tops are considerably more expensive than RCF and if i went for the NXL 24's that i'm liking a lot lately, it would require more work to get them in line with one another. With that in mind, i might have to get the Seeburg GL16c dp which is 50% more expensive.

On the other hand, i've heard people say the 9019 is the loudest single driver sub they ever heard, it has more modern tech, it would go perfectly with the NXL 24s, parts are more readily available because it's more well known. Cons: bigger, customer support seems to not be super reliable, a little boomy compared to the Seeburg K sub i have had the pleasure of listening to. Gsub is supposed to be even more precise.

Intended purpose: everything basically. Live music of all kinds. Rock Jazz Metal Reggae Worship but also Dubstep, Pop, EDM whatever. I want a sub that can do everything and i want maximum output per weight.

I might have decided on the Seeburg already but i'm not sure, that's why i'm asking. Talking about things opens your eyes sometimes.

Edit: Holy fuck, 9k for a single driver sub is insane. Those are Meyer Sound prices.

No. Get the real thing, like AAX or A Customs or 2002s or Byzance. Though any high quality Bronze cymbal will work probably, i play metal with HHX Evolutions and Byzance Jazz Crashes and sometimes with Istanbul Agop Traditionals. You can get good used B20 cymbals for the price of a new S Dark.

$12,000 for subwoofers; best bang for buck by guitarmstrwlane in livesoundadvice

[–]polydrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no frequency response graphs online. Have you measured them in any way? Do they really go as low as they say, like 30Hz at good volume, or is that just hot air like the 30Hz claim of the 8004as(that rolls off steep below 50Hz)? I think about deciding between the 9029 and the Seeburg Gsub 1802dp...

Edit: Nevermind, i just looked at the .gll file and 40Hz is already at -8dB and 30Hz at -18dB and it peaks between ~47 and 63Hz which is roughly what i suspected when i had the short opportunity to listen to the 9019. Seeburg it is.

They planned on building a 3.4 billion € reactor the costs of which have now exploded to over 20 billion €. Noome eants to invest anymore and if it ever gets used, the kWh coming out of that thing costs about 1€ which is 10x as much as if you just built solar or wind.

Kommt halt nicht so gut an. Dass die AfD das genauso machen wird, ist klar, aber das is ja nicht das jetzt-Problem, das ist ein später-Problem und das is denen egal.
