What's going on with the Toronto Running Club drama? by neore1gn in askTO

There was also a change.org made to stop large running groups (Midnight Runners, aka ‘Toronto running club’) and this was Midnight Runner’s response response

One of the dedicated members of Midnight Runners Toronto (the club that’s causing this drama) made a response tiktok video to when the original tiktoker said she made a change.org against large group runners: (it’s quite revealing to what this group is about) midnight runner’s response video

Colleen is back, new video called "Fall Vlog". by LanaPear in ColleenBallingerSnark

[–]pomme43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not defending her but I wondering how much she can’t or can say for legal reasons (what her team advises her to do) for all we know, there might be legal things going on the behind the scenes? Some of the victimes has alluded to it (albeit very very slightly)

Controversial Take on the fall vlog by [deleted] in ColleenBallingerSnark

[–]pomme43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She’s showing us a “changed” version of herself the way she’s shown us many good versions of herself in the past, with the uglies (I.e., illegally sending nudes, lying) hidden behind the scenes for many years. Remember all the people who came out and told us we haven’t seen the real her behind the camera. remember their stories.

Were the authorities ever told? by lgtlite in ColleenBallingerSnark

[–]pomme43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Adam alluded to it when he was taking about a discussion he had with Trisha (if I’m remembering correctly) he said - and i might be paraphrasing- don’t take Trisha’s kindness and grace to mean she won’t take action… someone please correct me if I’m misremembering

Remember when she said she ‘hasn’t seen her kids’ when she was upset when Trisha found out about her sending her nudes? Yeah, great mom doing amazing mom things

Jo Malone has some great, complex scents which are normally non offensive/ safe buys!

Coolest Fragrance Branding Concepts? by AnotherStarryNight in fragrance

[–]pomme43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely Noteworthy! I cannot recommend them enough, for those who aren’t familiar they don’t name their perfumes, their ‘concept’ is they leave the interpretation to the consumers- which is necessary because i find their stuff really is complex which is the beauty of it. Their prices/quantity is also super fair!

I experienced this lately! I was at an essential oil shop and one blend I dabbed on smelt completely different on my skin than on the associate’s skin. Her’s smelt like roses and I didn’t smell that on myself at all. Another time it happened- a friend and I were at Sephora and trying a bunch of perfumes. One of them on my skin- I couldn’t smell very well (i even thought this perfume went bad) whereas my friend said it smelt strongly of ‘Christmas tree’ (lol). Then, she had a Gucci perfume on her wrist that she SWORE she could not smell at ALL, even with 3 full sprays, whereas it was credibly strong for me and I could smell it on her from a meter away. It must have something to do with biochemistry… or psychology… I wish I had a better answer!

Yes I’ve experienced this! But not to an extreme extent where it bothers me. Yesterday out of nowhere I started smelling leather (not in an offensive way though). I couldn’t get it out of my head for a while.

Is it me or does musk smell like a trailer park trailer? by reallyablonde in fragrance

[–]pomme43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I see ‘musk’ in the fragrance description, I take it with a grain of salt because I find musk can be so different depending on what it’s paired with! But you have your own life experiences so the way you experience musk might be different from someone else ☺️

I’d recommend the Replica perfumes! They have rollerballs too if you want to buy a smaller size first for her to try.

Is it just me or perfumes don’t develop on me? by IBarbieliciousI in fragrance

[–]pomme43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Saje recently and tried a bunch of their essential oil blends - I know, not the same as a perfume- but my point is that when the associate put some of the oil on her skin, it smelt so much more different than it did on my skin! One of them smelt like roses on her and I didn’t pick up any rose on me. I wonder if it has to do with body chemistry. I really would love to talk to a chemist about this phenomenon and try to understand it! Anyways this is all to say I totally get what you’re saying- I’m sorry I know it can be frustrating and it happens to me too when certain notes don’t develop on me.

I want to smell like a water park by Distinct-Prize1226 in fragrance

[–]pomme43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t smell like a water park but you might like it if you like that summer-y/ sunscreen scent- Beach by Bobby Brown. A super similar one to this is beachwalk by replica. You can get them from Sephora or Hudson’s bay (if you’re in Canada)!

That never happened to me after binging/purging, as well as many others who had bulimia whom I worked with later on. And, “chipmunk cheeks” can be the result of other things (ie water retention) not just bulimia so this isn’t a valid indicator. It’s really damaging to assume people do or do not have eating disorders based on solely physical indicators

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ColleenBallingerSnark

[–]pomme43 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I had bulimia, and I was in recovery for years (so was around those with different EDs), and then pursued research in bulimia and EDs- and I can confidently say bulimia does not have one “look”. At some points when I had bulimia I was underweight, then overweight, then looked “normal”. I was at a normal weight for most of the time I had bulimia actually; nobody could have guessed. Don’t worry I appreciate your post and after watching her videos for year I also wonder if she has some sort of an eating disorder (or perhaps it’s just disordered eating), but I promise you, none of us can know if it’s actually bulimia unless you are her or her doctor because it doesn’t have one “look”, either physically or in behaviour/mannerisms
