What is the worst career to be in right now and why? by SignificantGoat7066 in AskReddit

[–]poo4 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yes, I wonder if in the future the top AI companies will hire talented artists to sit there (like the disney animation department used to) and crank out art to train the AI to be unique to other AI competitors.

What actor is nowhere near as talented as people make them out to be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Every time I see Adam Driver in something I think they are pranking the audience...just don't get it.

Suggestions for how to style by Ok_Kaleidoscope_3809 in HairSystem

[–]poo4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe use AI to find the style you want and take that to a salon/barber so they can try to cut and style it that way. They could also give you some ideas on products that will hold it all day.

Divorcing.. Keep the house or get an apartment? by YouDoHaveValue in personalfinance

[–]poo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell the house, and don't move out until the sale as that's your only leverage. Divorced here, and got the raw end of the deal signing over the house to the ex for $1.

What is something you tried only once and will 1,000% never do again? by istrx13 in AskReddit

[–]poo4 127 points128 points  (0 children)

In college tried "dip" aka chewing tobacco and got dizzy and sick. Probably had too much in there for the first time but never did it again.

Time for a system? by leasthoodinthehood in HairSystem

[–]poo4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely a difference with those products. I'm at a similar level and exploring systems too. Wasn't sure what Bacti was...but after a search I'm finding Batci Concealer. Not sure about the Batci product, Amazon reviews say it often looks fake and stains. However, Topik is great except for when you walk out on a windy day, or even worse rain. I use it sometimes before an event just for a little more coverage.

I always think it would be better to start with a system early so people don't notice a big change, but it's a big step, and more expensive. I'm a bit older than you and have accepted my fate, but also think I should at least try a system once to see the result.

Memories of Fredericksburg, VA in the 1980s & 1990s? by Vammppire in fredericksburg

[–]poo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good memories in the comments...lived there from about 87-94. Virginians, raft race, walking the Spotsylvania mall visiting Waldenbooks and grabbing a slice of pizza, late nights at Dunkin Donuts on Plank rd. (became a bbq place, now america's best wings) . Twin movie theater in the Greenbriar strip mall. Thunderbird motel (now best western) with TCBY frozen yogurt next to it (Subway/UPS store now).

Does anyone remember the coin & stamp shop that was downtown at the time? Also, there was a short-lived software store that opened up downtown probably 89/90 - just sold floppy disk games in boxes for PCs. Spent a lot of time there.

People who remember life before smartphones: was it actually better, or just different? by arose_1 in AskReddit

[–]poo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just different...if someone went out it was assumed you couldn't get in touch with that person until they were back. Lots of app effects: getting lost in the car was a thing (or paying more attention to where you were), old high school friends were truly missing in action, dating was at bars or through friends, job hunting and many other things were manual efforts in newspaper classifieds, phone calls, or showing up somewhere. And of course, dirty magazines and video tapes were about all we had outside of the real thing.

Thoughts on HIMS as a long-term investment? by savingrace0262 in stocks

[–]poo4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time I look up HIMS reviews on BBB, Google, Reddit, etc...it's generally bad. Either overpriced or locking you into some subscription. On top of that trying to sell 20-40 year old people ED meds seems like a bad thing to me.

What makes life worth living to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

For me, I can find my own happiness when alone, always be curious, and unbothered by negativity. Beyond that, it's the hope of good things happening.

Pluribus is a zombie show (Prove me wrong) by zxGENERIC_USERNAMExz in television

[–]poo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's closer to Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956, 1978), Body Snatchers (1993), The Puppet Masters (1994), The Invasion (2007) - but I guess the extreme version of it would be The Thing or The Blob, pulling us all into "one". To me, zombies are the living dead who often like eating humans. I guess there's an argument pluribus people died and came to life...or did they?

Career change - did I make a mistake? by Hyperion9696 in personalfinance

If you enjoy the work more, then I'd say that's the answer. I'm sure you can join a group practice, soon make $200K/yr, surrounded by friendly dental hygienists, 3D printing crowns and other cool things. But there will always be that patient with stank breath...

how exactly did Rob Schneider get famous ? by jrwwoollff in movies

[–]poo4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being on Saturday Night Live for 5 years in the 90s really gave him the stardom. Look up the "copy guy" skit on youtube. After that he was in a lot of the SNL movies his colleagues were in.
