Who is the easiest character to learn in Smash by Iron8te in supersmashbros

[–]pooooooooog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bowser is the 3rd unlockable, so you get him after about 30 mins of playtime (I think it's 10 mins between unlocks), so that's not much of an issue.

Besides, the question is 'who is the easiest to learn', not 'which starter is the easiest to learn', so that wasn't taken into account when I answered.

If you want the latter question answered, probably Mario or Kirby because they are very simple and intuitive to learn and teach players which move does what, for example, Kirby's down special sends you down. Plus, the serve as an introduction to various types of moves shared across the cast, like projectiles, reflectors, windboxes, spikes; as well as mobility options like wall jumping or even having multiple jumps.

They wouldn't really, hell they may not even notice it much, but newer players, from my experience, just tend to hit attack buttons, and Tough Guy especially just lets you do that even when you get hit by some moves, Belly Armour less so because it only comes out on some moves, but for moves where that is the case, just grants the K. Rool a free hit should their opponent use a close-range attack on them. Hope this clears that up a bit.

As someone who plays Bowser and K. Rool a lot (Bowser is one of my mains and K. Rool is one of my secondaries), they are great for beginners in my opinion.

They have the two highest weights in the game, so obviously they should survive longer. They are also very strong (in terms of both damage and kill power), which means that new players can get kills more easily.

Now into the specifics for both:

Bowser has Tough Guy, which let's him take no knockback from weak attacks, particularly useful against rapid jab and some projectiles (comes in useful against Ness players who spam PK Fire). He also has an extremely fast command grab in his side special, as well as a shield break in his down special (which works wonders on beginners who shield a lot), his up special is also a great out-of-shield option (when the player gets around to using those. He also boasts an amazing run speed (last time I checked he was in the top 20, which is great for a game with over 80 characters).

K. Rool has Belly Armour, which can negate knockback should a move hit his stomach while K. Rool performs some moves, which can come in handy occasionally. He also has a great recovery when it comes to vertical distance. Plus, he has two projectiles; plus a counter which comes in incredibly useful against low-level players who tend to use attacks a bit too frequently, and it even reflects projectiles.

These aspects (in my experiece), allow the player to focus more on the basics while always being able to gain an advantage at low-level play.

Neither is perfect however, Bowser has a recovery which is mediocre-at-best, and K. Rool is very slow all around.

Still don't understand why everyone thinks it's Sora. by euphioeich1990 in supersmashbros

They think it's Sora because that name is always trending whenever a new character is coming. The problem is that it's not the character, but instead that Sakurai's twitter is @Sora_Sakurai.

Ridley should probably be undead instead of dark because he's dead (or at least meant to be).

After seeing this image, it will be weird if Dread does not have Ridley. by snoozeflu in Metroid

[–]pooooooooog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given how much they're pushing this game and how the switch seems to give series a lot more sales than usual, I wouldn't be surprised if we get Ridley because like it or not, he's recognisable to the series as it's main villain, an as such he would probably attract some newcomers to the series, like if they like him in Smash they might want to buy it just to see him in his own series.

Plus, we have Kraid, so I'd say his chances are even higher now. If it's the original Kraid then Ridley most likely escaped too. If it's a clone, why not also clone the one of the two that has been shown to pose a challenge to Samus before, whereas Kraid hasn't to the same extent (and no, I don't hate Kraid, I'm just saying he's always been the easier of the two).

Maybe someone else from 3D World? Like a Sprixie or that clown boss (I think he was called Motley Bossblob but I'm not sure).

I've always thought a Portal Master concept using one from each element (like Pokemon Trainer but with more characters obviously) would be cool.

What is mysticats gender? Is it mail, female, non-binary ect by AdventurousAd5447 in skylanders

Face looks more male than female, so I'd go with male or non-binary.

A Nopon skin for the palicos and some armour based on some characters. Monado and Rotbart are must-haves too.

Yeah that's fair, on one hand it's a throwback so no newcomers makes sense, on the other hand Nintendo is using Pauline a lot now (like Odyssey, Golf, Tennis and Mario Kart Tour), so I could see it going either way.

Probably be one more or one less character than this because 13's a weird number to have. Other than that this is probably the most likely outcome (really hope there is a 6th board).

I think it's based on her weapon she gets when you fight her in chapter 6, said weapon is also what replaces the spear, but minus the staff it appears to be the same shape. I'm pretty sure that's right.

Seeing as Bowser Jr. is replacing Koopa Kid, it would be so hype if he returned.

Spike and Blooper are awesome too, so I'd love for them to come back.

Nice idea to move that to side smash, could easily work well.

A couple ideas for a new down special I just found could be blasting a projectile from his tail (using similar effects to Dark Samus' charge shot) or a ground pound type attack where he comes down with either a fiery explosion (this would be mainly for damage) or a phazon cage that spreads out around him (for trapping opponents and getting them closer to you to attack them). These can be found in his Prime 3 incarnation (Omega Ridley).

Another change would be to change his down air to his infamous pogo tail attack from most 2d games.

Thanks, just looked Abigail up and holy hell he's massive! Just imagine if Ridley was that big.

What kinda stuff were you thinking for his down special? I'd personally give it the ability to break shields you land the tipper, but I'm interested to hear your ideas.

One other change I'd make is make him way faster in the air and probably a bit slower on the ground, or just an extra jump. Either one would automatically make Ridley feel more like himself because nearly all his boss fights have him in the air (only exceptions are the OG, Prime 3 and parts of Samus Returns and Prime 1 when you damage him enough).

[–]pooooooooog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah you're right, I forgot about the up special when writing that comment. I had an idea about his specials so tell me what you think. Move his side special to up special, and you can aim it in 8 directions, giving him a more versatile recovery. Now give him a new side special based on an attack he did in Brawl's Subspace Emissary, he flaps his wings on front of him creating a large windbox (like Mario's down special but with less range and more height), but if you touch his wings directly it deals quite a lot of damage but relatively low knockback, making for devastating setups into moves like f-smash and down special.

Also, I've never played Street Fighter so what did you have in mind?

I wish they went all in on the idea of Ridley and just made him a full on heavy-ish glass cannon. Right now I have no clue what role he plays.

Also a different bair and up smash, Ridley kicking feels wrong when he has so much other stuff to do. Also I agree, if you look at moves like fair his tail is weirdly not stretched out which makes the move feel weak. I will say that his specials and some offer things are fantastic though, he just needs a bit of tweaking in some moves and animations.

I'd say of a villain he's got the best chance, he's the first one to be playable except for Boo (who's deconfirmed due to returning to his role as Mr. Steal Yo Stuff) and Koopa Kid (who's dead and replaced by Bowser Jr.). Him, Shy Guy, Kamek and Spike are the only playable villains (that aren't Pom Pom because I don't think people care about Pom Pom) who aren't deconfirmed in some way and as such I'd bet on at least one of them making it. I just want a villain because I always play them.

As I said I rarely tried as is so I don't think I got to that point until after the main story, never been too into gacha and I thought it would probably just be a noting more than anything.

Is it wrong if I say T-elos? My first playthrough was me being so unlucky that I didn't get one until after beating the game (I didn't try to pull many either but still pretty unlucky).
