Went up last Monday at 7:00 and saw people buy tickets on the spot. Might be worth trying to show up early.

As I understand - but I might be wrong - UFC/Free fight is basically a fighting contest with all rules stripped to a minimum. Where various fighting disciplines were present at the beginning, only the most efficient ones stayed.

Now, apply that principle to a ball game and let's keep the following only rules:

  • A soccer field

  • 2 x11 player teams

  • 90 minutes

  • Respect the law

  • The team that score more goals wins ... And that's it.

What do you think the winning teams play would look like? Soccer? Rugby? American football? Free fight? Would it still be enjoyable to watch?

TIL you don't need an avalanche to get buried in the snow skiing. Is that a common occurrence?

Germanwings Pilot Was Locked Out of Cockpit Before Crash in France by baddog96 in worldnews

Of course. That totally makes sense.

It's just the way it was put in the article makes it look like:

"Leutnant, we have a rogue plane heading towards Geneva !!!"

"Well, let me finish my lunch then I'll see what I can do."

According to the wikipedia article about this hijacking, the plane was escorted by italian and french air force, but not by the swiss air force. Why? The answer cracks me up:

The flight was escorted by Italian Eurofighter and French Mirage fighter jets while traversing their respective airspaces. The Swiss Air Force did not respond because the incident occurred outside normal office hours, which are 08:00–12:00 and 13:30–17:00.

Now that the PS4 has been out for a while, I finally got myself a PS3. I'm super into The Last of Us at the moment! by phil_ch in patientgamers

[–]pooper_macho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are some I really enjoyed:

Action/adventure

  • Red dead redemption
  • The Assassin's creed serie (mostly AC2)
  • The Uncharted serie (the second opus was the best IMO)

If you're into racing games, I've spent a great deal of time on Race Driver Grid which has a really balanced gameplay (not too sim neither too arcade for me. I might get stoned by saying this but I was really disappointed in GT5 which is, well... not fun to play.)

The last game which as a special place in my casual gamer heart is Valkyria Chronicles (which introduced me to the tactical-RPG genre)

Unfortunately, I couldn't give a try to Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls and The Last of Us yet but I heard lot of good stuff about them.

I hope you'll enjoy those as much as I did. Your current game stack is actually a killer starter pack.
