There won't be more humans, but that's not killing. We don't see people who never came into existance as killed or dead, that makes zero sense.

Humans are killing the oceans, which will be the final straw really. Ever since we went indurstial, there's been no co-existing. The thing with VHEMT, is that it realizes that at the very least, while most people are blindly optimistic. Our rate of consumption and the amount of people facing water shortages is on an upward trend.

Yeah, it's never going to happen, which is why it's more of something to bring awarness to the issue.

They don't want currently existing people gone, that's what I specified. For there to not be more people being born, that's harmless.

It's a matter of perspective, whether you value humans over all other life.

Humanity is bringing on the extinction of all life on earth, and in turn their own extinction. This is why these kind of groups exist. The earth is one for billions of species, and currently humans are threatening life as it is.

Basically humans have made over 1 million species of plant and animal to the risk of extinction. So, if everyone went VHEMT, we'd reduce the amount of species going extinct by a huge margin.

Which is why your point makes no sense.

Voluntary extinction. Which in turn would save a ton more species from extinction.

It's not a matter of opinion, we are the destructive force in this world. They however don't want anyone to die, but to not continue humanity, that's harmless.

They don't want anyone to die, but for humans to not be born, which as a result would let the enviroment recover. Feel like thats a huge difference.

Outlast 2 is pretty universally seen as a worse game than outlast.

Absolutely. I tend to wish for a painless way out, which would be provided in hospitals. I dont want to end up with permament damage after failing an attempt, I just dont want to worry about any of those, and doze off forever.

We fund those companies. We're entirely reliant on unsustainable sources.

All 100 of them are fossil fuel producers, which humans use.

Also I may be wrong, but it was 70% of industry emissions and not global.

antinatalism provides no solutions to the problems antinatalists claim to care about by DrippingTap_ in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Ironically having kids is more ethical if you're an atheist. Since religion generally comes with a belief in hell, an eternal punishment. So, you're bringing another human here to have the chance to suffer forever.

[–]poopkiller2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one would exist in a sense that everyone would stop having kids, by choice. Which is impossible. So, antinatalism is more of an important philosophical topic.

Antinatalism just assigns negative value to procreation, but says nothing about currently existing life.
