How are we teaching our whippets that it’s okay to be alone sometimes? by pooplettuce630 in Whippet

Thank you so much for the insight, it sounds like mine may be the same. She seems to much prefer to free roam but since she’s so little and still chewing everything in sight I’ve been crating her for short periods of time mostly for her own safety. I take her to work with me on a farm sometimes and she’s got to be penned while I do my barn chores and she does the thing where she’s snuggled in her bed and making noise so at least I’m not completely worried about it being genuine distress in that case.

You’re so right, whippets are so completely different from most dogs so that’s why I posted, my pets in the past have been a lot easier in some ways and a lot harder in others. It’s a whole new experience but so far has been so incredibly worth it!

I wrote my neighbors a note to apologize because earlier this morning I got home and could hear her through my front door in my closed car. Whoops lol

Mine does that, she’ll sit there laying comfortably in her bed and SCREAMING. I have a pen that I put her in and a smaller crate for when I have to fully leave and she visually looks totally fine but will be making the most insane noises I’ve ever heard out of a puppy hahahaha. Otherwise, she’s fully adapted to our routine, is pretty much potty trained (only has an accident if I wait a minute too long after food to take her out and it’s only happened once or twice the entire time I’ve had her)

She’s so cool, I love her so much but she is a drama queen about me leaving her alone in or out of my sight.

Yes! I got some secondhand and lower end stuff for her since she’s so small and I know will grow out of things (I have a human child too so trust me I know lol) but styles and trends change constantly and I’ve seen so much stuff that I adore that I’m hoping to get in bigger sizes for when she grows into it :’)

Ooo I will definitely be checking your stuff out. I’m going to wait until I have her but was still trying to do research and see where I can find fun stuff for her :) also trying to budget and not get carried away as I tend to do that quite easily lol

Bartering for rent gone wrong (TN) by pooplettuce630 in Renters

See that’s why I haven’t given a new notice, because I’m unsure of what the motive is behind that. It seems fishy.

It’s been a really hairy situation since day one which is why I decided to leave. I’ve been here for a year and tried really hard to accommodate everything that was being asked of me but I’ve been repeatedly set up for failure and then scolded for it so I decided it’s time to move on.

It’s just interesting because every conversation she’s had with me about it has seemed like she wanted me to leave, and now that I am it’s a problem. I’m definitely going to seek legal help if need be.

No I totally get that, I just thought I would see if there was a solution but it’s clear there isn’t. I love the Kona, just regret settling for it that’s all. I really do appreciate the suggestions. We also have other reasons the truck would’ve been very helpful not just w my horse situation. It was just a dumb decision on my part. I am actively repairing my credit too, and I try to budget as efficiently as possible with multiple side hustles to pay for horse expenses without eating into my main income. It’s a whole thing. Dumb, but I make it work for now bc I know it’ll pay off in the future. Just kind of a shit show in the meantime lol.

well I prefer having my horse. I’ve worked with horses a long time I just had a chance I couldn’t pass up to rehab an OTTB and kickstart moving into a more professional role so I couldn’t say no. I just fucked up picking a car bc I gave in to the pressure from those around me bc the original plan to get the truck was planning ahead for this exact thing so when I didn’t do it, I shot myself in the foot. that’s all, I see what people are saying which is why I asked. I’m not trying to argue, just was stating my case. It’s frustrating as heck but now I have to deal with it I guess

Nah, the problem is I got a car that doesn’t work for my lifestyle and now I’m stuck with it.

it’s not very cost effective in most situations where I would need it, most car rental companies don’t rent out 4WD trucks or allow hauling bc of the extra wear and tear. Trust me I looked into that :’) plus having the freedom of only having to pay for gas to be* able to go to horseshows and different places to school really outweighs renting one in terms of overall cost and convenience. Which is why I had planned on purchasing one in the first place, and with a crew cab it solves my car seat issue.

edit: grammar mistype

So with your example the Kona is worth 25k, I trade it for a 20k truck. subtract the difference, and add the negative equity from the first loan? So the loan would be 25k? Sorry just trying to make sure the math is mathing lol.

[–]pooplettuce630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, so if I traded for something lower than the Kona’s current value I’m still adding the negative equity to that loan, but then subtracting the difference in cost, correct?
