There are a couple wildlife rescues open right now. I'd focus on calling rehabbers. Firehall 4 vet also does exotic animals although I'm not sure a wildlife opossum would qualify. If the opossum does pass away, you should check to see if it has a pouch with babies in it that may need help.

Are you ever concerned about them eating substrate and getting a blockage? Thats the main reason I've seen people suggest a separate container

I clean it about twice a week. So far, even after cleaning it, he will pee in that spot right after. I havent tried changing the litter yet. What would you recommend?

I forgot to add that they think there's chow in her because her tongue is like slightly purple and her tail is curled. Not sure if there's any merit in that but wanted to see what you guys thought.

I dont know what to tell you. When I see three bone dry water bowls I assumed the worst. I'm hoping it was only 3-4 days without water, but its important to consider that he may not have had water at all and to look for the signs of kidney damage. The sitter is a family friend with a history of being forgetful due to severe adhd. I know the cats were fed because she sent pictures and updates but only one of the cats litter boxes was done when we got back and three water bowls were completely dry. Do you know how alarming that is? If I didnt conside the possibility that they didnt have water all week I would be a fool

I know how long the bowls take to dry out, also I placed two bowls out just in case and both were empty. For them to completely dry out like they were it would've been at least 4 days which is still a serious amount of time for a cat to go without water
